I wonder how many on the census are actually in permanent collections. It seems like at least 20 or 30 or more have been sold in the last year and a half.

Most of them. There were 56 on the census in August 2010, so we are probably seeing them slabbed for sale versus coming out of collections. IMHO.

But there's nothing like a couple sales for about double the recent prices to shake a few bought lower loose.
