Question about three items
(I also posted this in the General forum, I am not sure of the more appropriate place. Please feel free to delete this from whatever forum is not the correct one.)
I am wondering about the value of three Valiant things I have. Two of them aren't really something that can be priced, so the value is more for a collector.
The first is a bottle of Darque Brew. Last I heard those (with Armstrong Ale) were going for about $6 or so each. Is that still correct?
I also have what appears to be a photocopy of the pencil and inked worked for a Solar issue. The issue is the one that starts off with people trying to steal the Ebola virus. As I said it is a photocopy. All the pages are photocopied (one comic page per photocopy page), and the artwork is in black and white, with text. No colors or anything. It looks like the complete comic, minus any ads or letter columns or anything like that. I think it might be issue 56. It is interesting because you can see the final work before it was colored (this is probably the closest I will ever come to owning orginal page art!
)
THe last item is the coolest. The best way I can think to describe it is a "proof copy" of 2nd Life of Dr. Mirage #12. It is the complete comic (colored, with ads, the final letter column, cover, etc) but it is not bound, not is it cut (the pages are larger than normal comic pages). The paper appears to be normal comic paper (thicker, glossier stock for the cover, comic paper for the inside pages). I don't know if this is a proof issue, or simply an issue that was never cut and bound, or what, but either way it is sort of cool.
I got these directly from Valiant when I was still doing the Valiant Visions newsletter. I am not sure if I want to try to trade these, sell these, or keep these. Since these are items that are mostly for a collector, I doubt that I could get anything of value for them on Ebay. As such, I thought I would ask you folks what you think they might be worth for sale or for trade? I understand the "worth" is entirely subjective, that someone may pay $100 for something that another won't pay $.50 for. I am just curious if you think these things are on the $.50 side (like a mid-level issue of Magnus or something) or on the higher side (like a VVSS issue or something). I don't know if I am going to sell or trade these, so I am not asking for offers. If you do want to make an offer, feel free, and if I do decide to sell them, I will get back to people.

Armstrong Ale is probably a $15 to $20 item (including shipping)
The photocopied pages are hard to price, since they can be reproduced.
The "printer's proof" of Rai #12 is probably worth about $10 or so.
I have a couple of those, actually Rai #11 (I think)...
and they're rarely seen, but not too expensive.
Of course, if certain interested parties get involved...
throw out the price guides!
