Why are there not many valiant cgc sig series books?
I've noticed the cgc census holds on average five books or less for many valiant key issues in the higher grades. Any one
have any perspective in why this is so? Rarity? Lack of interest?

Probably not enough interest. The creators would have to be at a con or somewhere with a CGC witness as well so that limits things.

Thats a shame... I'm trying to get high grade SS books of all the keys. For the most part I've only been able to get either Shooter or Layton sigs on most books but I finally able to get David Lapham's sig this past summer on my Harbinger #0 pink, #1, & Rai #1!

A board member helped me out in getting a few signed back in 2009. Here's my favorite:
Unity #0 Red CGC 9.8 SS. Signed by Jim Shooter & Janet Jackson on 2/7/2009 at the New York Comic Con.

BWS will be a miracle. If you can manage his sig, you are officially The Man.

Re: Why are there not many valiant cgc sig series books?
Sweet!
Maybe we can help each other out in getting some more CGC SS books. I'm reading up a little bit on the CGC board about this. I also learned that Desert West Comics help collectors in getting sigs as well. Anyone used them before?
I definitely would love to get more key books signed.

Here's fan favorite Rob Liefeld with a key book in Valiant history:
Deathmate Red CGC 9.8 SS. Signed by Rob Liefeld on 4/5/2009 at the Emerald City Comicon.

Wow those are really nice. Are those signatures really on the comics themselves? It is a small miracle that you can hand a book to someone, have it signed and it get back in your hands in that nice of condition.

I use DWC regularly, in fact they are who I have to thank for the 3 Valiant SS books I posted on this thread.iggy101us wrote:Sweet!

I've had the opportunity to purchase a couple BWS SS books (EW #1 and Solar #10) but the asking price was just way too high....

There are risks.. but there are those that handle the books on a regular basis and are very good about keeping its condition intact.

Let me just say there are alot of options out there. I will be working for CGC in NY this year witnessing. Just bring your books to the CGC booth.iggy101us wrote:Sweet!

So have people brought their slabbed books in, broken the slab to have them signed and re-slabbed or did you guys bring raws in for signature and hope they made the grade?

Re: Why are there not many valiant cgc sig series books?
I submitted 5 already slabbed CGC 9.8s to a member who's also a CGC witness. He cracked them, got them signed, and CGC re-graded them and sent them back to me. Luckily they remained 9.8, sometimes downgrades can occur. Or if you're lucky, you can can a bump up.Johnseye wrote:So have people brought their slabbed books in, broken the slab to have them signed and re-slabbed or did you guys bring raws in for signature and hope they made the grade?
