BTW, Steverino and the Mrs. were there (didn't even tell me it was his birthday) and there were a few sketch covers pencilled and inked. It was a very cool bit to hang out with 'Rino and jam on some arts. Greg showed for awhile and we all shot the poo. It was pretty cool and hopefully we can get our own Valiant folks table. :thumb:

Oh Brent, please include 'Rino and I in the artsy list next time or I will sit on you and draw every X-Men there's ever been.

If they haven't picked them up, scan that Dusty Cap pic, I saw it for a second but didn't get a chance to enjoy it. :thumb:

Johnny's work is stellar, IMO. I really think he'd be a damn good fit at VEI: Clean lines and an amazing amount of depth with economy of line.

Here's one of the jams Stu was talking about:

Image

The other one we did had a Cap headshot done by 'Stupendous Stu' himself with a flimsy Red Skull done by me on the back. Stu also did a quick sketch of Daredevil for me to ink for later. I'll post it when it's done. :thumb:

It was kinda funny the difference in drawing techniques Stu and I had. He was very careful and did a fantastic job making sure each line was a perfect stroke. I was like the Tasmanian devil going 90 to nothing all over the cover. Then again, I was running on only 3 hours of sleep.

Overall, I had a great time meeting everyone. All the artists that I met were terrific and it was cool hanging out with everyone. I even bought $4 worth of comics!

My one gripe is that my photo in the comic con story didn't show off my super-cool General Lee shirt! It was a B-day present from my wonderful wifey!

I studied his work very closely and I have to agree. He's fantastic! I meant to show him my stuff so he could critique it, but I was simply too tired. I need to see these guys in action and take notes!
