Bluewater Comics Wave Sneak Preview

Post by superggraphics »

OK everyone. Here is a sneak preview of the Wave project from Bluewater Productions. I am the letterer on the Primer pages and executed the three logos based on line editor Gregg Paulsen's designs. Enjoy!

I really like the first three story pages! :thumb:
I'm not so crazy about the character art pages that follow. I guess I am looking for characters that are drawn with less exageration and more realistic clothes.

Trust Me! If you take a chance on this you are going to love this book! The Primer is a blend of different artists who will be working on the 4 regular mini-series and yes there is old school media mixed with new school media. The 4 cover panels form one giant image. Thanks for the comments!

Lots of stuff on these boards that I'm not interested in, I just don't comment about it.

I can see that you are using mythical characters but how are you dealing with using the same title as Arctos Comics with Orion the Hunter even if the characters and stories differ? I am not up on my copyright and trademark laws so was just interested to see where this falls.

Looks interesting; some of the pencils remind me of Pat Olliffe which is a good thing.

Is there an on-sale date?

On Sept 17th, 2011 in Altoona, Iowa, the Wave crew will be debuting the Twilight Of The Gods WAVE primer ICON edition at the ICON comic convention. It will be limited to a certain number of copies till the actual release in November. It is a sketch cover so Wave artists in attendance will be doing sketches on the covers. More information about the convention can be found by clicking on the link below.

I asked Gregg Paulsen (Wave line co-editor, art director, and artist) about the copyright and trademark issue and there is none from what he told me. You can read an interview that our very own Starbrand (Mark F Davis) did with him by clicking on the link below:

George, could you ask and see if there's a way that I could purchase one of these if they do not sell out to show attendees? I'd be interested in getting one to support the line and will pay the shipping cost.

OK, my boss, Gregg, was without internet sevice due to a move. He is open to selling copies of the sketch ICON edition to anyone who is interested, so just let me know whether you want a virgin copy, or a signed and/or sketched version, and I'll see what I can do. You can let me know which if any or all of the characters you want, or any other request you may have. Cost and shipping to be determined. Attached is the first 3 of the 4 ads that will appear in this edition.

Interested in a sketched version, even with UK shipping.

Just the Primer available at this time, right?

Yes, the Wave Primer launches the 4 mini-series. I'm still trying to get a price on the sketch edition and once I do I'll let you know. They are probably busy putting it together for print at present. In the meantime here is the final preliminary Primer ad with my logo design for Heracles.
