XO Zero Color Cover?
Picked this up on ebay 5 or 6 years ago. I was told this was the color cover to XO 0. It is done in watercolor and measures 10.5" X 14.25". Anyone know anything about this piece?
Thanks,
Richard

Re: XO Zero Color Cover?
Is it hard enough usually to figure out color art, as the printers can make last-minute changes, and for this cover it is extra hard to compare. I am fascinated by the stars. They came from the ink art, but most were removed before printing. Some few do remain and seem to be in the same places as in the art. There's an unknown story here.Barbarian wrote:Picked this up on ebay 5 or 6 years ago. I was told this was the color cover to XO 0. It is done in watercolor and measures 10.5" X 14.25". Funny that now all the art is at display on the net:

I wonder why they kept remaking the color art.
I looked at the rest of your Gallery, it is most impressive. Big thanks for sharing and welcome here. I do btw have the ink art for Armorines 1, so that makes another pair that is on display on the web now:

Re: XO Zero Color Cover?
In the VE2 set, card #248 features X-O #0. It is also featured on the large OS #5 card & on the chromium card Ch #2 from the sendaway set. Could the image have been altered between the three? Were there seperate colors done for each? Could the same thing have occured with other covers like Ninjak #1, Armorines #0, Dr. Mirage #1, Bloodshot #0, Turok #1, Shadowman #0, etc.? Seems possible to me...---Stevemagnusr wrote:I wonder why they kept remaking the color art.

Very good point steve. You have to add to that colours for advertisments and colour mock ups for solicatations. However, after looking at the piece and the acutal cover in detail now I would say it is actually for the cover. Very hard to tell thoughVault-Keeper wrote:In the VE2 set, card #248 features X-O #0. i'd say the telling factor here would be the size of the piece.
most of the color card art i've seen has been small. this certainly isn't that small...there was also a poster of this cover made, but it was vertical in orientation and not horizontal. also, the only piece of color art i own is the actual size of the book. the size of this piece is listed as 10.5" X 14.25"...but the actual image size could very easily fall into the actual size of the book.
i'd say this more then likely is the color art to the book...and would make a super companion with sonicdan's set of original artwork for x-o #0.
