Thanks alot Ron!hillmanthe2nd wrote:I have not seen a blank one in a few years, which sold for $80Some artists who did sketchagraphs had some blanks left over but doubt they have any left as the rabid sketch card collectors (myself included) had them do commission pieces.
You can try contacting some of these artists to find out if they might have any left...

And it goes without saying that you are no slouch in the inking department.
Damn, the stories we could tell.
By the way Charles, here a link where I have been posting images. Let me know what you think.

Great stuff man. It really takes me back to look at some of that work. I've always loved your work in the layout stage as well. Great energy to figure work even in the rough stage. I love the marker comps as well as the black and white. Its too bad that more people don't get to see the really amazing unrestrained stuff that some of the artists can do. Limited to character style sheets and monthly deadlines, very few artists get to cut loose and have fun.
Hopefully I'll get he chance to post some stuff over at the digitalwebbing board soon as well. You can give it the once over and offer any thoughts you might have.
I still see Alex at the odd convention or so. Are you still in touch?
C
Hey Charles-
Cool, i will look out for your stuf over at DW. Alex moved to the west coast
a couple of years ago so it's mostly e-mail. He's also a big time artist now so you know how that goes. I don't do conventions so if i do see him around it's at a mutal friends house.
Let me know what your thread will be called and i will defenitely check it out.

Letterers
Hi guys,
At a show yeserday, I ran across one of you--I'm sorry, I never did get your name.
Thought I'd fill in a couple of gaps.
I am Audra Verde, Beth Ann Jenks and Anthony J. Avon. I may have used other names that I can't remember, so if you find other names that have done one or two issues, let me know and I'll see if it was me who lettered the book.

Andrew Wendel here
I just found out about this site today from Sean Chen. Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm still out there, still drawing, and planning a return to the field soon, possibly with a creator-owned property. I also have a LOT of old pages from the thirty or so books that I penciled and/or inked while at Valiant, and most are definitely for sale (but NOT the Giordano-inked Bloodshot cover, or the Ralph Reese-inked Magnus cover, or anything inked by Rudy Nebres).
I'm willing to do commissions too - I need extra money to feed my musical instrument addiction.

Re: my musical instrument addiction
I've played guitar for 27 years. I've got 21 guitars - really into Fender Telecasters, Jaguars, Jazzmasters, older Gretsches and Gibsons, and I've put together acouple custom ones myself. I play in NY with a surf band called the Sea Devils (just reformed after a 2-year hiatus and a spell as The Shinto Kings) and with a great songwriter named LJ Murphy (http://ljmurphy.com). I'm also a producer/engineer with my own analog studio. I just did a French-only 10" vinyl release for the Fleshtones and have done a number of albums for NY groups that are too lazy to get label distribution. I hope to become affiliated with Strummerville, the UK-based foundation in memory of Joe Strummer, and record punk bands for nothing (well, for a tax write-off) as part of their plan to offer struggling musicians a leg up.
Art pays the bills, but music is too much fun to give up. (Ask Mike Cavallero about the last time I saw him at Coyote studios in Williamsburg with his green Gretsch Tenneseean... he's a rocker himself, and a lot more high-profile than I am)
Are there enough plugs and brand-name references in this post for everybody?

Dude - great meeting you in NYC this past April. x-omatic likes the sketch of Master Darque you did for the "jam piece" I got him!!!Andrew Wendel wrote:I've played guitar for 27 years. Some people spend their whole lives believing in fairy tales, usually because they don't want to give up the fabulous prizes.
