Draco's delectable Dead Universe dregs !!

Comic universes no longer active, Bravura, Continuity, CrossGen, Future, Malibu, Ultraverse... and others that are 'no longer with us' today (or only recently brought back).

Draco's delectable Dead Universe dregs !!

Post by Draco »

We have a thread based on bragging rights etc, but not one for general pick ups that are of little excitement, but cool if you are mad like myself.

I have wanted to show the madness i grab at each show, but don't want to bog down the Bragging rights thread with my dregs :)
As i am now collecting over 100 Dead Universe publishers this will help me showcase them a bit better.

Enjoy my habit as i do.

I was happy with the necroscope vol1 1 second print I picked up ~ the hologramme cover.

I mean I prefre the first print cover, but its cool to have the second print.

Also the tatoos from issue two rock.

This thread is about stuff yuou picked up ~ probably cheap or not, but nothing to bragg about.

Almost all in vfn/nm that were bought off the shelf new and read once etc etc

Capitol.

Whipser 1, 2

Eclipse

Aztec Ace 1, 2
Crossfire 1
Ms Tree Thrilling Detective Advs 1 - 8
Sabre 8
Scorpio Rose 1, 2

First

American Flag 7 - 12
Jon Sable complete set. I was complete anyway, but snagged about ten upgrades though
Mars 4, 5, 7, 8, 9
Warp 1 - 16 Special 2, 3

Pacific
A Corben Spacial 1
Berni Wrightson Master of the Macabre 1 to 3
Bold Advs 1 - 3
Darklon the Mystic 1
Demon Dreams, Arthur Suydams 1, 2
Ms Mystic 1, 2

Silver Star1
Skate Man, Neal Adams 1
Somerset Homes 1 - 3
Starlslayer 1 to 6
Sun Runners 1 - 3
Twisted Tales 1 to 8
Vanity 1
Vanguard Illustrated 1 to 6

I would say 20% or more are upgrades to be honest as i have a great selection of all these publishers, but nice to fill some obscure gaps along the way.

Well I can't compare to Cyberstrike's haul, but I picked up a complete Whisper set (Capital/First) for "free" a couple of months ago. "Free" because I used nothing but eBay bucks to buy it. Oh, and an Ex-mutants 1-8 (Pied Piper) for basically shipping. I had the first issue or two of each of these when they came out and didn't keep up with them, so I'm looking forward to finally reading them.

Id say that's as impressive a batch from a reading standpoint if not better.

I'm a little concerned that Ex-mutants might be a gateway title into Ultraverse collecting. :) I'm already juggling 5 DUs and that's plenty right now. Or were they just Malibu and not actually part of the Ultraverse universe?

Ex-Mutants wasn't Ultraverse, but they later on became part of the Malibu "Genesis" line.

I picked up the same weeks ago. My SECOND complete Atlas set (sans Vicki, I figure not worth the time and money tracking down another Vicki 1-4 set of books that I do not care for), the recent boks i purchased are in much better condition than my original set. They are BEAUTIFUL books, each and every one of them. This new pick up is going DIRECTLY to the book binders to be put into three sexy hardcover Atlas Comics volumes.

Picked up almost a long box at the show on Sunday for between 10p & 25p, with a handfull of 50p too.

A great mix across the board.

List later.

So heres all pick ups from last weeks show and a few straglers im just checking off my ridiculous lists.

The amount of DU's in general is into the 120's i think now :o

Always adding more :|

Eagle Comics/Fleetway Quality

2000ad Monthly/presents monthly x20

The first 6 iss mini and early ongoing (1 to 6?)books were by Eagle, nice US format reprints of some great 2000AD stories, but when Quality (title change to presents from monthly) took over, the publisher name and look of the books soon made me choke. Awful look that progressively regressed into a truly shoddy effort, maybe the worst case i know of in the UK history of a nationwide distributed line

Innovation Sq bound Masques. Win.
Liar Comics
More than Mortal Truths & Legends 1 to 6 and Sagas 1 to 3 half are upgrades.

Malibu/Boxtree

Terminator 2 Judgement Day, Nuclear Twilight tpb ( the british version, lovely)

Star Trek DS9 1 Ltd edition embossed pic with gold & Plat logo. SO made of win !!!
Star Trek DS9 2 sealed w/tc.

Mortal Combat's mighty win, they seem to sometimes go mad on ebay UK

50x mixed across Aircel, Adventure, Eternity, Genesis and Ultraverse.
Nicest part was the Trancers ADvs Jack Deth :) 1 & 2 and a stack of Robotech Eternity books you never see in the Uk, again often seen grabbing up to £5+ on ebay uk.

Now Sting/G Hornet, Speed racers

Pacific

Silver Star x2

Topps

Some Ray Bradbury and J Park Raptor sealed.

Vortex Mister X gaps filled :)

Wildstorm Kindred set & Backlash gap

+ about 10 Image IDW just because they were either free 10p or really cool.

There is more.
