It's a nice little convo, filled with rhetoric and wishful thinking but it still says nothing about VEI's intention.
Shooter is more than a comic book guy, he's a name in the media business. Whether that media be monthy pamphlets advertising towards movies, tv, whatever.
In the next couple years VEI will be forced to publish something again, to keep their TM (or copyrights, I constantly forget which is which) active. Just as Marvel had to do every 5 years or so with Captain Marvel, even though the title sold like *SQUEE*.
so in awhile they will start to ramp some advertising up, get us amped up for "new" material and it will either be something ongoing or it will be something to keep their claim active.
Time tells all truths. I'm going to be on the sideline until I see some sustained activity.

I recognise that comment.jedimarley wrote:The fact is that VEI need look no further than themselves for any groundswell of negativity. A lot of people showed good faith in them in buying hardcover collections of material that most of them probbaly had already - have VEI repaid that faith through their actions?

And I stand by it.

Their website has been updated. I don't see links to the other content anymore though.
NapoleonBlownapart noticed the VEI webiste update and posted a thread about it on the DK board.

Maybe it's the cover to Rai #00.

Not so much updated as there is just a front-page and no access elsewhere right now?iggy101us wrote:Their website has been updated. I don't see links to the other content anymore though.

Honestly, I think I prefer it this way. At least with the new front page there is some for of life without the false promises of HCs that will never come topped with failed movie attempts. I look at it as a fresh start, and a hope of things to come.leonmallett wrote:Not so much updated as there is just a front-page and no access elsewhere right now?iggy101us wrote:Their website has been updated. I don't think a changed front page is proof/evidence that a movie is moving ahead. That is not to say that it isn't happening, just that this page means nothing in that regard.iggy101us wrote:So there really is a Bloodshot movie in the works?
Imdb lists a movie titled "Bloodshot" for 2013, but that is no guarantee (does any willing board memeber have full imdb access to gather more info BTW?).

Harbinger movie had a director announced in 2008 and had a Paramount push but what has come of that? Nada - so until I see something more than an off-handed remark from Matthew Vaughn I wouldn't hold my breath.leonmallett wrote:I don't think a changed front page is proof/evidence that a movie is moving ahead. IMDB is updated by its users, like wikipedia (I think..correct me if I am wrong) so its information is often conjecture and rumour mongering.leonmallett wrote:I don't think a changed front page is proof/evidence that a movie is moving ahead. Updating a webpage is *SQUEE* simple. hell if I were in charge of said company I would be paying somebody to at least update the content on the webpage every week. I don't care with what, anything. I'd learn the html and do it myself, though buying a program that makes it *SQUEE* easy is a business expense anyways.
my ex-wife used to like to spend money, getting into new hobbies all the time to leave them half done. I can't tell you how many half finished "projects" of hers I have found cleaning out this place after she left.
This smells like that to me. Apologies for the negativity.

Good point, and one I think you and I have considered in the past.jedimarley wrote:Is this all BS so the TM's don't lapse?
To maintain trademarks don't you have to actively use them? Would the partial site update count? The only viable vehicle I can see is some kind of VEI sampler one-shot incorporating pretty much everything, but I may well be wrong on all three counts.
