2005 Magnus Graphic Novel

Post by kevinbastos »

Wandering through crazy gaps in my collection -

Wondering if the 2005 Magnus graphic novel was worth picking up, reading, or is it just a pass?

Thanks!

Pick it up (cheap) if you're a completist. It's a pretty bad read.

Very few were printed, so it might be worth having for that reason...
but that's probably the only reason.
It's not a good read, and if there was more to the story, it was never told.
(iBooks founder died in a car wreck around the time the book was released.)

If you're buying it just for the read, I would say don't bother. If you're more of a collector, it would probably be worth it to pick up a copy (since they are fairly cheap).

Starbrand sold me a copy some time ago. It's cool to have as a unique take on our favorite robot fighter :) However, the story was definitely lacking :(

Looks like General Grievous with the red cape behind Magnus.

Okay- - I was sold at the cheap and hard to find.

Who was I kidding? I was sold at the insane completist insanity problem.

Sigh...

Anyone got a bunch of bad stories to sell?

Apparently I'm buying.

Be consistent on eBay but stay disciplined in your bidding. If you are patient, you can probably pick one up for $1.99 or 99 cents plus shipping. I know I picked mine up for less than $4 shipped.

Appreciate the advice - but I've a stupid itchy trigger finger.

I'm loving the hunt, again.

Intoxicating to be looking for something. Loving the search and pull the trigger.

Being a new find for me, I’m curious enough to spend up to $5 on a copy. :hm:

Which also seemed to have knock on effect on the reprinting iBooks was doing of the Wild Cards series of novels IIRC.

BAH !!! Could not help myself, the price seemed right so I pulled the trigger and picked one up out of curiosity.

Thanks for piquing my interest.

Didn't IDW or someone recently get into doing Wild Cards again or planning to ?

Oh no... I would not even wipe my dog's *SQUEE* with that thing.

I like your enthusiasm and have been (like 15 minutes ago) in the same boat you are in... you got the fever.

And the only cure... is more cowbell !!

And comics.

That bad, eh?

I know it was just some stupid legal ploy - but it still has 'moved' me. Will I be up all night wondering? Do I HAVE to HAVE it?

Think I'll wait.

And buy other stuff.

LOVE the chase.

Who am I kidding? I love the books, too. That's why I hated stamp collecting and coin collecting (sorry, Dad. Still love you), but came back to comics.

To look closely, it looks like some creature in her drawers is trying to annex her belly button... HA! I've captured it!
