It's not a Valiant, but I was super-stoked to get this in the mail today.

(Does anyone already know what it is, just by seeing the picture?)

That's right. Someone of note, 1983, a yearbook that I'm excited to add to my non-Valiant (and I should say, non-comic) collection.Chiclo wrote:Are you wanting us to guess some person of note that would be featured in the pages of this annual?greg wrote:Yep. The photo's a little blurry, so I'll help out... 1983.Chiclo wrote:Some sort of yearbook?
It's not from around here, so it's got nothing to do with me or Arkansas, etc.

About a dozen photos of Michael Jordan...
the 1983 college yearbook for Univ. of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

You did a great job, if those are what I think they are.comicsyte95 wrote:Sounds like you got a smoking deal,i got a few of the UNC cards from that year at a flea market years ago and sold them for a big profit.

They're actually from 1988-1989 and they're really common.
(They definitely look like UNC 1983 originals, but they were made after-the-fact and in large numbers.)
Congrats on cashing out.

This year at Heroescon I bought the first comics I have gotten at a convention in years! I usually just go for commissions, sketches and signatures, but this year I ran across two dealer; one with a huge table of 2-for-a-quarter boxes and another with about six tables of 5-for-a-dollar and ten-cent comics. I got the following:
Magnus: Robot Fighter #1
Marvels: Eye of the Camera complete series
Avengers the Initiative #1-20
Most recent Red Tornado miniseries
Superman #593 through 645 (that's a 52 issue run!)
Action Comics #800-832
Superman: The Man of Steel #110-141
New Avengers #1-38
Grendel #1-4
The Order #1-10
Captain America #20-44
Darkhawk #30-50
A ton of Archie's from the late 70's through early 90's
All for around ten-cents a book!
