You must love microscopes.

I got the new Japanese Predaking reissue the only problem is that I broke the head off Tantum (the bull) and it's beyond my abilty to repair it. You can still form Predaking and the others are in great shape.
Even though I’m 35, I enjoyed the Beast Wars characters much better—especially the more developed personalities of the Perdacons. BW Megatron and Cheetor were my favorites.

Indeed, I kinda include Beast Machines with Beast Wars when discussing that group of characters (especially Megatron and Cheetor), but it really is a separate program.
From an entertainment POV, Beast Machines was the best written and animated Transformer program to date, IMHO. Marv Wolfman wrote the series bible but doesn’t get enough credit.
I have both Beast Wars and Machines on DVD, does anyone else? Maybe it’s time for a Beast Marathon...
I have much respect and fondness for G1 Transformers but couldn’t get through watching the first season—the program didn’t age well.
This new program on the Hub has been okay, but has none of the Beast Wars' season 2 and 3 or Beast Machines' sophistication.

In the cartoon the character is refereed to as Skyfire while the toy is Jetfire.Ax wrote:Why was I thinking his name was Skyfire?
Here’s an interesting link, in particular, look at the “Why Skyfire?” section: http://transformers.wikia.com/wiki/Jetfire_(G1)
You’re really into Transformers—cool. I’d forgotten about the G1 movie but I had it on VHS. I really need to get another copy.Cyberstrike wrote:I have the following series on DVD:sanman wrote:Indeed, I kinda include Beast Machines with Beast Wars when discussing that group of characters (especially Megatron and Cheetor), but it really is a separate program.

Oh, man; I had no idea. So if I'm referring to the cartoon character he is called "Skyfire," and if I'm referring to the toy it's "Jetfire"?sanman wrote:In the cartoon the character is refereed to as Skyfire while the toy is Jetfire.Ax wrote:Why was I thinking his name was Skyfire?

I've always called the character Jetfire thinking that was the correct name. Additionally in the three comic book continuities (Marvel, Dreamwave, and IDW) he’s Jetfire.

I got an old FHE VHS copy (I bought it at the first Botcon).
I got an Alliance (a Canadian company) VHS copy.
I got a Rhino VHS copy.
I might still have have part of it that I taped off TV as well.
I would recomemend the 20th Anniversay DVD it's got the film in widescreen and full screen, commentary tracks, the rare Japanese Scramble City part 1 with audio commentary (only), trailers, TV spots, American and Japanese toy commericals.
I hope it came out on Blu-Ray because I would buy it.

They got the colors of Rumble and Frenzy mixed up. Rumble as a toy was red and Frenzy is blue. The cartoon show got them mixed up.superman-prime wrote:they made a bo bo on the first packaging in the states and just stuck with it
That is nothing there are very bad English dubs of the 3 Japanese exclusive G1 Transformers series that pick up from where The Return of Optimus Prime left off.
For example in the first series Headmasters Blurr is called Wally, Blaster is called Billy. Spike is Sparkle, The Matrix of Leadership is called The Power Pack, Twincast (the rebuilt Blaster) is called Blaster, Soundblaster (the rebuilt Soundwave), is called New Soundwave.
In the second series called Masterforce there is Ginrai who is a human (he's Japanese expatriate truck driver living in the USA) called Optimus Prime.
I'll look for the 20th Anniversay DVD--thanks!Cyberstrike wrote:I own at least 3 VHS copies of Transformers: The Movie.sanman wrote:You’re really into Transformers—cool. You should try Amazon.com, eBay, FYE, or Disc Replay. If all else fails try here or the trading forum at http://www.Seibertron.com.
I've been a huge fan of The Transformers since they debuted back in 1984 and The Transformers have been responsible for getting me into other hobbies and passions including: comics, anime, science fiction, internet message boards, even my love of pro-wrestling has a possible connection with The Transformers.
I've been collecting The Transformers items since they came out.
I got a lot of toys and before anyone asks I don't know the exact number (I stopped counting back when was I ten years old and it was a little over 100 back then if I had to guess now it would be close 1,000+), but I got at least three (or four) huge 50 gallon totes and about 10 boxes that are filled to top (and some boxes are over flowing) with various TF toys from across multiple toy lines.
I got hundreds of various Transformers comics, trade paper backs and hardcovers from Marvel US, Marvel UK, Titan Books, Dreamwave, and IDW.
I got the DVDs that I mentioned above.
I also got a bunch of various Transformers art books and toy guide books.
