May I say once again that I am astounded by the amount of knowledge that you guys have. The show's three hosts and then Plan B and somebody else...it amazes me that the topic of conversation can go so far astray and suddenly you guys are talking about Croatian history and Tesla and all this stuff without missing a beat!
Great stuff as usual!
Now if Z would just read the books you guys talk about...

I think that was the longest I have been party to a conversation about Croatia without making a Dalmatian joke.dave wrote:May I say once again that I am astounded by the amount of knowledge that you guys have. listened to the first part just now. No offense to anyone intended, but I found the ENTIRE Egypt section very long and boring. I'm not one who requires the podcast be entirely about comics, but I would like it to be at least interesting or funny.
As far as the first hologram covers being indy books, here you go:

I think the Alien Encounters book might be the first ever, as it was dated 1981. The Boffo Laffs book was around the time of the Black and White explosion, so 1986.
I'm not sure if the Alien Encounters book was actually a hologram, come to think of it, I think it was some type of transparent foil type paper that allowed the art below to be seen. Please correct me if I'm wrong on this one, but I remember this book having something on the cover in that area that is supposed to be a movie screen.

yeah, there was some funny stuff in there, not sure it outweighed the boring factor of some of the other stuff.slym2none wrote:Oh, c'mon... listening to TAFKAZWH talk about not being able to mount the shaft was priceless. That has to be the ONLY reason Sean left it in there.Brother J wrote:listened to the first part just now. No offense to anyone intended, but I found the ENTIRE Egypt section very long and boring.
