What video game are you currently playing?

I am currently playing Fable II and the exploration is there if you need it OR just follow the trail to your primary quest and be done with it. The game is pretty simplistic and sometimes that is exactly what I need after a hard day of work and just want to kill something.

Yeah it's a relatively straight forward RPG but the fun is all in the humour and the voice acting is top notch. Good old Stephen Fry as Reaver takes the biscuit!

This one is on my radar to pick up as well. I've watched some of the online reviews and it looks pretty cool.

I dabbled with the first one on the old Xbox, then dabbled even less on Fable II but recently picked it up again as I bought Fable III for two of my kids as they have Xbox 360s. I figure once I get through Fable II, I can borrow my kids Fable III disc.

I agree that the voice talent used on the game is top notch. I think my only complaint to date is the damn menu system. For me it takes to long to load certain menus and I have one of the new 360s. I expect it to zoom along but I think the software is holding it back.

My kids bought me the new 250 gig slim for Christmas. So far, I'm very impressed with it. I do find myself missing the Wiimote though. I've gotten used to way it enhances the gameplay.

I think you will find that the X360 is a much better system. Much better for the serious gamer and with beautiful graphics. The Wii could have been SO much more IMO if the graphics were better.

The Wii does have some pretty cool graphics in games like Zelda, Metroid and Mario Galaxy. They actually come fairly close the 360. The problem is Nintendo doesn't put out enough games like that. I hope that changes with the next gen of consoles.

From what you are saying I think you will love Fable 3. The menu system is gone entirely. The load times can still be a little long, I think they maybe could have spent a little more time on it.

It'd be good to play it pretty soon after 2 as although you don't need to remember any of the past you can see some pretty cool things.

To decrease load times you can simply install the game to your Xbox 360's hard drive. You still need the disc in the tray to play but there is no noise from the disc spinning (which is minimal on the 360-slim, I only hear the fans on mine at any given time) and the system accesses the game program directly. I am not sure just how much time is saved by installing it to the hard drive but if load times really became a problem for me, that could at least alleviate some of the problem.

I love the ability to load the games on the 360. It is so much more convenient. I just wish they could find a way to eliminate having to put the disc in to run the game though. I know they do this because of piracy concerns, but I'm sure the pirates have figured out a way around it anyhow.

Nintendo dropped the ball on that aspect. I know their goal was to minimize costs, but they could have at least made it so an external hardrive could be used.

I agree, DJ. I wish they would have configured it where you didn't have to put the disc in every time. Maybe every 3rd or 4th time the game is loaded. Or maybe a random number between of times between 2 and 5 or something like that. Or, even let it be different for each game depending on the type of game it is.

You only need 8 gig or so for most games. Plus you can always delete them when you are done playing to make more room.

That reminds me, I have my old 120 hard drive for my previous Xbox 360. I will be putting that up on Ebay or something so I can get a bit of extra cash allowing me to pick up some more books or maybe put down on a newer game

BTW, my Ebay purchased copy of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II arrived in the mail today. The other day I got in SW: The Clone Wars for the 360. Meaning, I will have a busy MLK weekend with Monday off and everything. But before I do that, I have a bunch of comics to sort through in my extras as I have a few books to get sent out. But with the Wife out in CA right now, my evenings will be dedicated to using the Force, my bruthas !!

Well, I do plan on watching SW: The Clone Wars Season 1 on Blu-Ray aaaand Band of Brothers on Blu-Ray in memory of the passing of MAJ Dick Winters.

Same. I always use my gamecube controller if I can. Gave my wii to my lil sis at Xmas tho.
