Star Wars: The Force Unleased II
Moderators: Daniel Jackson, greg
Due to my recent interest in the Star Wars Universe, I WAS intent on going out and splurging on a copy of Star Wars: Force Unleashed II but knew that I had never finished the first one... so trying to be thrifty, I reluctantly started to play Force Unleashed. To my surprised (I mean maybe there was a graphics overhaul, I dunno), the game looks GREAT and not as monotonous as it was the first time I tried to play it. This time around the missions are fun, yet challenging and I am doing a 180 on the story as this is some classic GOOD Star Wars works here !!!

I definitely think the first game had a much more "Star Wars" feeling story, but 2 was still pretty good too. However, I really think you need to read the book in order for the game's story to make any sense. That seems double for 2.Knightt wrote:Due to my recent interest in the Star Wars Universe, I WAS intent on going out and splurging on a copy of Star Wars: Force Unleashed II but knew that I had never finished the first one... so trying to be thrifty, I reluctantly started to play Force Unleashed. I am contemplating on picking up the Tatooine and Hoth campaigns as well.

I am not thrilled with Starkiller but meh, it could be worse. I wonder how Knights of the Old Republic would play on the 360 these days.
The Force Unleashed II sure is pretty polished.

I personally read them before, because they came out first.Knightt wrote: You mean read the stories AFTER I finish the game(s), yes ?

I haven't played Hoth, but I wasn't a huge fan of Tatooine. I guess it's mostly just because they are infinities stories and don't really fit in. I wouldn't say I'm a Starkiller fan, but I like the way he was used in the first game. The second game was a lot more fun to play, but the story wasn't anywhere near as good.
KOTOR is a must for 360... I don't know why they haven't done it yet.

Hoth is worth it just for the laugh you'll get during the few moments when fighting with whiny *SQUEE* Luke. The actor even has this great whiny *SQUEE* voice, and the short little snippet where Starkiller bashes him in the face with his own lightsaber is hysterical!etos45 wrote:I haven't played Hoth
I finished up the Light Side ending of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed this evening. WOW, it was AMAZING and VERY well written, IMO. I am sure to go back and make my Dark Side Decision perhaps tomorrow and maybe even try to score a few other achievement points. As it was, SW: TFU assisted me in going over $20,000 gamerscore.
I've liked this game so much that I scoured ebay looking for SW: TFU II and found one, played once for $32.50 free shipping. I could go for the steel case edition for $15.00 more but I don't know if I would really use the bonus items that came with it. They sure look nice but at $15.00 more, I think that I could get both TFU graphic novels and only need a few bucks more. Can't wait to play TFU II though and I feel like I will want to play Hoth and Endor for the first game. Now to look for DLC for TFU II.
Man, this Star Wars kick I am on is NOT letting up. LOVE it.
I take back ALL the smack I said about this game... I kind of feel like I have watched a new Star Wars movie, that I 'actually liked' !!!

I have SW: The Clone Wars Season One on Blu-Ray, I just might pull those out as well.

I saw the theatrical film and one of the episodes of the current Clone Wars series that spun out of that. I've heard mixed things. Is it pretty good? Worth 20 for the season on dvd?Knightt wrote:I finished up the Light Side ending of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed this evening. WOW, it was AMAZING and VERY well written, IMO. I liked what I have seen so far but try not to take it TOO seriously... even though the show takes a pretty serious tone at times but has some good hearted humor. I picked up the Blu-Ray season one for $15.00 so I am not sure if that is a good price for the DVD or not. They sure are good though.xodacia81 wrote:I saw the theatrical film and one of the episodes of the current Clone Wars series that spun out of that. I've heard mixed things. Is it pretty good? Cool. One of these days, I want to hunt down the old Krikfalusi version that pre-dated the current stuff.Knightt wrote:I liked what I have seen so far but try not to take it TOO seriously... even though the show takes a pretty serious tone at times but has some good hearted humor. Having had a lot of couch time with Alyssa this weekend... I would now say that the ONLY way to watch Star Wars: The Clone Wars episodes is in HD. Man, the detail and effects that they pull off within these stories is VERY nice and completely enjoyable. I think we may be in to finish off the Clone Wars today or tomorrow OR Have a Star Wars Episodes 1-6 Marathon as my Blu-Ray has a built in upscaler brining the DVDs up to a simulated 1080p. NOT stopping me from getting the Star Wars Episodes 1-6 on Blu-Ray to be released later this year at all but for now, these will be good enough. My wife blew a tampon when I told her of my intentions to get the SW movies on Blu-Ray, sputtering something about having 11 different versions of all the movies in the house and no need for another... hahahaha... ah, women. They do make me laugh. The Blu-Rays are to have HOURS of extras from all the different movies, even some of the lost Wampa scenes from Empire Strikes Back. I do wonder which version of espisodes 3,4, and 5 are going to make it onto the Blu-Ray. I would REALLY like the original versions as I have the SE which are even further ahem 'special' like at the end of ROTJ where you see the spectral forms of old Obi-Wan, ancient Yoda and the young Backstreet Boy version of Anakin Skywalker. WTF ? I DO appreciate the SE versions but further changing these (especially making Greedo fire first on Han which is BS) went a step too far. To have these upgraded to even clearer video quality with Blu-Ray will look sweet, especially in the Revenge of the Sith episode. Lots of action with crystal clarity would be nice. Not a huge fan of the newer movies but I think that it was enough to jump start the franchise again at a good time economically in the U.S. and around the world.xodacia81 wrote:Cool. Another thing, LATE last night I was able to start up SW: The Force Unleashed II !!! Made it to the second level and am WAY impressed by the graphics overhaul that was made on this new game. I still have two additional levels to purchase on Xbox Live and make it through those plus the challenge levels and I hope that the DLC for TFU II makes good use of this as well because I have heard a lot about how short this game is. Finishing the first game was a good thing for me. I was sorely disappointed in it... it is a great thing that IMJ had so many good things to say about it or I might have let it linger in my collection for another year. I anticipate the DLC to be a lot of fun.
I wanted to get the SE of TFU II but it was $15 more just for a USB drive and a code for some DLC. Apparently there is a few different DLCs for this game. Did anyone ever get them ?

I bought both the costume and Endor packs. Not sure how much it is now, but the Endor DLC was .99 on the Network and TOTALLY worth it. I give Lucas Arts big time credit for proving a fully realized bonus level for .99.Knightt wrote:Apparently there is a few different DLCs for this game. Did anyone ever get them ?
I wouldn't have bought it otherwise. That's how the pricing on this stuff should be. Also, the punt-an-Ewok move is as much fun as the punt-a-jawa move was from the first game.
The Endor pack which I purchased last night was 80 MS points... I guess plus or minus $.99. Microsoft does not deal in real world money but their rather 'force you to buy X amount of points instead of actual amount' currency. But still for that much I was able to purchase the Premium TFU II dashboard theme AND the Endor pack.IMJ wrote:I bought both the costume and Endor packs. Is that playable after before or during the game ?
TFU II is chock full of gamerscore !!
Good to know, I have not played any of the first games DLC. So, there is no Endor level during the normal TFU II game ?IMJ wrote:It's like the DLC from the first game where you can load it as it's own campaign whenever you want. It loads on it's own save file as a "new game" so it won't overwrite your standard campaign progress.Knightt wrote:Is that playable after before or during the game ?
I am looking at trying to get a few DLC Codes off ebay but I don't know what the actual use of most of them would be.
Oh man, I think that I am just about finished with this game ? Looks like I will be achievement whoring on this one for a bit... Good thing I picked up the Endor DLC and have two more DLC episodes to play on the first game. Anyone know if there is any DLC for TFU II in the future ?
GLAD I didn't pick up the collectors edition. (that materiel on the 2 gig thumb drive would be cool to have though as well as the actual thumb drive, I can't find just the thumb drives anywhere for sale)

The collectors edition has some okay extras. I picked it up primarily for the steelbook case, which I'm a sucker for. Everything else was just okay, although the additional super strong lightsaber crystals were fly too.
I found a 360 TFU II game in the steelbook case for $25 shipped a week after I bought my regular copy for $32.50 shipped.IMJ wrote:If there is more DLC, I hope they keep it at .99.Knightt wrote:Oh man, I think that I am just about finished with this game ?
