Picked up the first Mass Effect game as I missed all the hype about this series and decided to start at the beginning now its cheap.
I've been playing for about 4 hours and I'm only really now getting into the first major mission after being on the space station for a loooong time. Seems pretty massive and it's pretty cool. The active conversations kinda remind me of Shenmue. Not too sure on the battle system now that I'm really getting into it, seems a little clunky.

I never got into Shenmue, although I appreciate what they tried to do.ian_house wrote:Picked up the first Mass Effect game as I missed all the hype about this series and decided to start at the beginning now its cheap.

I wish I could have skipped Mass Effect (which I pretty much did.... booooring IMO) and went straight for Mass Effect 2. I love the story, better graphics (Mass Effect had environments that were always 'catching up') and over all feel of the new combat system. Yeah, it now feels like a REALLY beefed up shooter and I am ok with that.

I am currently playing Dynasty Warriors 2 on PSP and Shin Megami Tensei: Lucifer's Call on PS2. I can't remember what you lot call Lucifer's Call. All I know is it is the one that was released before the Digital Devil Saga games.
As with the majority of MegaTen games the gameplay is quite slow but the storyline is cool. The world is destroyed by evil cultists who want to herald in a new age and Tokyo is warped into a wasteland on the inside of a sphere that is inhabited by demons. You are transformed into a demon by a strange child with weird powers and you have to try and find your friends and work out what is going on and what your teacher has to do with it.
I figured I had better crack this one out and finish it off before going on to Digital Devil Saga which I picked up for a quid at a sale at the local library.

I think it's called Revelations: PersonaDrift wrote:I am currently playing Dynasty Warriors 2 on PSP and Shin Megami Tensei: Lucifer's Call on PS2. I can't remember what you lot call Lucifer's Call. All I know is it is the one that was released before the Digital Devil Saga games.

The Persona series was a spin off branch of Megaten. Rather than an involvement with demons like the main Megaten series, it focuses on a group of teenagers who can call on special aspects of their character in order to fight.xodacia81 wrote:I think it's called Revelations: PersonaDrift wrote:I am currently playing Dynasty Warriors 2 on PSP and Shin Megami Tensei: Lucifer's Call on PS2. Turns out Lucifer's Call was Megami Tensei III: Nocturne in the US.
Tonight after class I will be trying out the 'Zombie Mode' on Call of Duty: Black Ops !!!
I kind of rolled my eyes to see yet another game have SOME kind of connection to zombies but I remember Call of Duty: World at War and it's zombie DLC levels that were incredibly fun and am glad that at least this time I didn't have to pay extra for the zombie fun.... and CoD: WaW zombie mode is probably THE most fun I have ever had online... ever !!!

Rumour has it that there is an extra unlockable zombie level when you finish the main game. You are in the Pentagon and get to play as JFK, Nixon, Castro or McNammara. The idea of it amuses me.Knightt wrote:Tonight after class I will be trying out the 'Zombie Mode' on Call of Duty: Black Ops !!!

So, Nixon will sweat, Castro will chomp on cigars, JFK will look for a blonde and McNammara will come up with excuses for why things are going badly? Sounds awesome bad in a good sort of way.Drift wrote:Rumour has it that there is an extra unlockable zombie level when you finish the main game. Maybe they were just portrayed that way by the powers that be through leaks to the media and such. All the stuff that happened to them was a result of a Shadow Government cover up of the truth that they were actually survivors of a zombie outbreak. This is just a way to discredit the facts by showing them as an outlandish fiction.xodacia81 wrote:So, Nixon will sweat, Castro will chomp on cigars, JFK will look for a blonde and McNammara will come up with excuses for why things are going badly? Where is my foil hat? I can hear the alien transmissions again.
Yes, there is some HINT at the very beginning as to some kind of 'story' that must be solved and that addition to the game free of charge (this time) is a GREAT bonus. The game story in itself is already a great story... IMODrift wrote:Rumour has it that there is an extra unlockable zombie level when you finish the main game. Just started playing the new Goldeneye game yesterday. Very cool game. Not just an updated version of the 64 game, but a total revamp for the most part. The controls are well done and the enemy AI is outstanding. They will roll, dodge and detect you from quite a distance. Looks like they put a lot of effort into this game.

Isn't the makers of THIS game known for their racing games ? I heard this somewhere and that because of this the car/vehicle chases would be GREAT.Daniel Jackson wrote:Just started playing the new Goldeneye game yesterday. Very cool game. I havent' reached any chases yet, but IGN gave it a great review (and they are pretty tough on reviews).Knightt wrote:Isn't the makers of THIS game known for their racing games ?
