Basically, it's the movie, The Usual Suspects.Doorman wrote:Actually, Dark Reign: Lethal Legion was quite good. Nice twist there.
Basically, the Grim Reaper puts a team together (with Nekra, Tiger Shark, Absorbing Man, Mr. Hyde, and a surprise hero) to take down Osborn. However, a member of the team turns them in and causes the death of the Grim Reaper. All this is told in a flashback as a lawyer interviews all the members, who are now imprisoned in the raft.
It's basically a super-villain murder mystery. I'd recommend it!

Green Lantern 165-175. Slightly less whiney with Winnick off the title and not much of a change after Eaglsham stopped illustrating the book, but still up and down. I definitely have issues, as I always have, with how much of a "confused girl" Jade is ALWAYS portrayed as being. Just wish I had the next installment so I could really finish up the storyline. As a whole, reading the later issues of this volume of GL has been rather eye-opening. I can tell why they decided to bring back Hal and get the GLC going again. The title had become a bit of a soap opera at times instead of a space opera. Not good.

I'm still liking it. #3 was good and added to the story, but I'm ready for it to get moving.dave wrote:Morning Glories 1-3. Woah. Trippy.
Not really my cup of tea due to the violence, but it's got me wanting to know what happens next so I guess it's doing something right.
I love that R.A. chick she is looney as can be!

I've read 1-3 so far. I've been getting all the covers for my wife.HaloReach2010 wrote: True Blood #4 Cover B.
Anyone else reading these?
The story isn't really good or anything. I wouldn't recommend it to non-Trueblood fans (or even Trueblood fans). It's about what you'd expect out of a half assed comic adaption of a series or a movie. Since I've gone in with that mindset, I've liked it ok.

I started the recent Immortal Iron Fist Run. I don't really know anything about the character, so I am going in blank.
I've read up to #4, so far, so good. I know this book was getting a bunch of hype, so I am looking forward to it.
Very Eternal Warrior-ish with the historical flashbacks. I like it.

It stays good throughout the whole run even past the Brubaker / Fraction stuff. The one-shots, everything in this whole series is great.Elveen wrote:I started the recent Immortal Iron Fist Run. I don't really know anything about the character, so I am going in blank.

This and the first 4 or so Cap trades are actually my favorite Marvel stuff over the last bunch of years.

I finished Amazing Spider-Man One Moment in Time.
I liked it.
Overall, I thought this was a good read and I'm starting to think more and more that comic book fanboys are just jealous that they all aren't writers. This arc got blasted all over the net. It was enjoyable.
Spoilers........
It explained how MJ knew that PP was Spidey. The only part that didn't feel right was the part at the end when MJ acted uncharacteristically weak.
And about the only thing not wrapped up is how the FF knew who Spidey was.
I liked it.

Good observation about the Marvel fanboys. I thought DC ones could complain but...hooboy.400yrs wrote:I finished Amazing Spider-Man One Moment in Time.

Green Lantern 126-128, the Jay Faerber books between Marz & Winnick. I liked them. They were breezy, fun and in no way tied into years and years of backstory that you had to follow in order to understand even the most minute detail. I think # 128, where Roy Harper is *SQUEE* at Kyle for constantly upstaging him is a minor classic.

I didn't know he wrote any GL. Jay is one of my favorite writers. He's the only writer that I can think of who I can say that I've never read anything by him that I didn't like. He doesn't do earth-shattering stuff, but it's always solid.
Any chance the story involved father / family problems?

That's exactly the feeling I got from these 3 stories. As for father/family problems, well...not as such. There was a brief mention of Oliver Queen and the time Roy Harper spent as Speedy, then a little bit of a "family argument" over who would take out the bad guys, the JLA or the Titans, but that's about it. I can say that these 3 issues are enough that if I see his name on a book I might flip it open and see if it looks like something I'd read. Oh, and there was honest-to-god-classic-comic-book humor in these stories, too.400yrs wrote:xodacia81 wrote:Green Lantern 126-128, the Jay Faerber books between Marz & Winnick. I liked them. Yep. That's pretty much what you get from Jay all the time. All he's doing now is creator owned stuff. Dynamo 5 is solid.xodacia81 wrote:That's exactly the feeling I got from these 3 stories. A bit bored tonight, so sitting and reading more Green Lantern. This time, it was 129-134. I don't have 135 (althought I have 136), so I can't properly finish the story but I like what I've read. Winnick's run was truly was schizoprenic. However, for this story, I did like the little speech Kyle gave the JLA at the end of # 134 and then the splash showing them ready to do battle...awesome.
