Shattered Earth by Eternity Comics

So, what is Shattered Earth? Is this a big crossover?

I was at the LCS today and saw several issues of New Humans that were marked as Shattered Earth issues. I know that there are at least 3 dedicated series to the Shattered Earth thing - Ex-Mutants the Shattered Earth Chronicles (15 issues), Shattered Earth (9 issues) and Wild Knights Shattered Earth (10 issues).

It looks like 11 of the 15 issues of New Humans is marked as Shattered Earth issues.

Does anybody know the basic story of Shattered Earth?

From what I can tell, the Shattered Earth is just the world that the Ex-Mutants and other related characters inhabit. I think they branded the books that way so collectors would know that they are tied in with the other books. I see on later issues of the New Humans, they also put "An Ex-Mutants Universe title".

Here's a post from Ryan McLelland that does a pretty good job summarizing the storyline of the Ex-Mutants:

Ok, so it's not a cross-over.

Still, I'll be adding this to my needs list. Really I think the only other title to add would be the New Humans since I've got the others that I know of already.

Are there any other titles that cross in there other than the ones I have listed?

Doing a Google search, I found a very informative post about this:
the Ex-Mutants have a pretty tricky publishing history.

#1 was published by Eternity Comics and then moved to Amazing Comics with #2-5.

#6-7 were published by Eternity but, the original creators also published their own #6-8.

Later on, Eternity published a few other tie-in series: Ex-Mutants: the Shattered Earth Chronicles, Solo Ex-Mutants, New Humans, Wild Knights, Shattered Earth.

After that, Malibu Comics started a new series in 1993 that lasted 18 issues!

In between all that are a bunch of specials one-shots.
