Those books are extremely rare like he mentioned and considering the amount of money spent on them, it's ridiculous for New Dimension to have packed the books that way. I always look on the inside of any Eclipse 3-D comic in the off chance it might be a 2-D, had no idea they were signed or something like that.

As far as eBay, everyone should definitely make sure they are happy with any purchase, no matter how small the amount of money is that we're talking. If the seller doesn't make it right, neg their *SQUEE* and take any actions that might be open to get your money back.
I don't know if we tackled why he went by the name restored - he had bought an Avengers #1 and got it slabbed and it came back married pages. He was bemoaning how much he overpaid for it.

Don't argue with him. He is always right!

Never wrong.

My only complaint with Restored this episode was that he got REALLY high pitched whiney when talking about that Avengers comic and the treble hurt my ears pretty bad. Other than that it was another enjoyable podcast...

BTW - Wasn't the Watchmen more about how Adrian killed the Comedian because he stumbled on his plans to bring about world peace with the faked alien invasion? He wasn't really aiming to kill the heroes as much as he was just doing what he had to do when people were in the way. I always thought that the payoff of at the end of that story is what made it so great. How the evil villain was really just trying to achieve something positive through unconventional means. That and the story of the "redemption" of Rorschach. The death of the Comedian and the "murder mystery" was just a means to bring about the real purpose of the stories.

One of my favorite podcasts.

GREAT ramblings.

I LOVE the comic talk. Honestly..... I not that interested in the DH books. I learn so much for the podcasts about the medium. It's like comic lectures for me.

The Watchmen talk was very interesting.

I am in favor of the recent reads section, and I would LOVE a classic reads recap section.

OTV = Dig it!

You are seeing the cracks.

C-Lo has a very low, bassy voice, and it comes through extra bassy through skype.

Since podcasts are often listened to with headphones, computer speakers, or other very small speakers, I have to bump up the high end a bit to make his voice easier to hear, since low end doesn't come through as well in small speakers.

Skype technology records all incoming audio on a single channel, so AJ and C-Lo are recorded on the same track. When I bump up the treble a bit on C-Lo, the treble goes up on AJ.

Mixing requires a tricky job of balancing things. I try to reach a happy medium, but I can't make it perfect.
The death of the Comedian and the "murder mystery" was just a means to bring about the real purpose of the stories.
You are correct ;)

bad concept made good by excellent execution = Supreme by Alan Moore.

One of Restored's bellows positively split one of my eardrums in this episode. I know you just explained why that is, but I thought I would mention it, anyway.

The Watchmen conversation was kind of aggravating, because you were initially discussing Watchmen the comic, and then the movie was brought into the discussion, somewhat confusing things. Considering the initial discussion was about concepts and executions in comics, it probably would have been a much better discussion if it had stayed that way.

As far as Magneto, hasn't it been established by things like the X-Men movies and cartoons that it is pronounced "Mag-neet-to"? I think Restored must have been arguing for the way it SHOULD be pronounced, not the actual way it IS pronounced.

Yep.

Just like Gilad should be pronounce the same way you pronounce "gill" on a fish + id. Not Gil-Lad which makes me think he was a member of the LOSH.

It's so funny hearing this stuff out loud though, because you don't usually argue with yourself in your head. :P

Not usually. :D

Didn't Chiclo say something about something called Magneeto Science (misspelled to show pronunciation)?

I realized how much of a mess our Watchmen argument was as I was editing the episode.

Sometimes we're sloppy.

I really enjoyed the talks during the three in one episode.

I can see the downloadable comics e-comics really working out well once they get the system stream-lines a bit more.

Think of how many times collecting has aggravated each of us simply do to storage and then think of this younger generation that is growing up without bulking collections of "stuff" (music as a prime example)

I still think that 99 cents a comic is too high a price point, but imagine a $5 a month subscription to say, the entire DC universe. That would be intriguing, wouldn't it?

I think they'll jack the price of comics high enough until .99 seems fair. :D

Digital Comics could definitely be viable, but they need to create a digital reader that is to comics what the ipod was to music. They need the right size screen and an great battery life. I thought the Ipad was going to be it, but the screen wasn't big enough.

The latest gen of Kindle is smaller at 6", I think the DX is the same size as the iPad. Biggest problem with Kindle right now is that it has no color.

I will go back on the iPad not being a good .cbr reader, though. I was going on what I had read, but I actually got one last week and read the newest Spider-girl comic on there and it was a perfectly fine read. Yeah, it's smaller than the actual comic, but it still reads like a normal comic would. So maybe as other, cheaper tablet PCs come out (assuming they have the same battery life) then eComics might become a real option.

Being the big Malev freak that I am, I was taking a break from customizing Lego Hero Factory villains into Malev Warriors, I decided to google my favorite ectotheric robot invaders and somehow... I found a podcast about the Malev War? So I listened, I laughed and found that it was an interesting conversation. I thought they could have gone a little more in-depth on some things, but overall, it was great. I decided I wanted to hear more.

I have to say... I am loving this podcast. I must have listened to a dozen shows by now and I laugh my *SQUEE* off constantly! THESE are the conversations I want to have, man!! I understand the language and sometimes I learn a thing or two.

I'm also glad that the guys are not HARDCORE Valiant fans. I like to hear the other side of the coin, as well. And as much as I adore Valiant, there is plenty of issues to critique.

The guys seem like great dudes, too.
Sean is interesting, engaging and a capable producer.

Chiclo is a wealth of information and his voice is awesome. He sounds like a comic fueled Kermit the Frog from Texas and that is NOT a putdown in any way shape or form! Do some voice over work, dude!

The other guy... whatever his name is this podcast - the oldest one - he's a laugh riot. Opinionated, passionate, effeminate sounding... he's a debater and I dig him. He's not afraid to take the unpopular stance... and that's not another gay joke!

My biggest laugh out loud moment was during the pre-con podcast, the other guy jokes about doing Cosplay and getting his "furries" so he can dress up. And Sean says "You can have ALL the furries you want!". I cracked up on that so hard at like 3am and woke my girlfriend up.

In any case, I know you dudes can take a joke and you seem like real cool guys. I honestly hope this show continues for another 50 episodes! I'll be listening from here on in!

Thanks for the support, ME.

It always shocks me that people out there like listening to our podcast. I'd do them if nobody listened. They are fun as hell.

I am not sure where I could do some voice over work in the Texas panhandle. It's a shame King of the Hill is over - that show was so real that it had to be animated.

We love listening to the podcasts. So when is the next episode being released? Its been a month since the last one. :D

I noticed all the pre-Unity titles such as Solar, X-O, A&A, Harbinger, Magnus, Shadowman and Rai have had their own episodes. :thumb:

You guys mentioned that you were going to run out of topics to talk about but not all the Valiant titles have been discussed such as Armorines, Geomancer, HARD Corps, Ninjak, Psi Lords, Dr Mirage, Secret Weapons and Turok.

Overall, I like it. I will not expound on that any further, so take it for the compliment it is.

Work's been kicking my butt like nobody's business lately. I have been getting new and bigger responsibilities heaped on me, and it is taking some time to adjust, not to mention the sucking of time and energy away from everything else in my life.

Maybe we'll get a new show out soon?

That will be great! I am finally close enough that stuff is kinda current. It was a bummer to hear you guys excited about stuff a while back that didn't amount to too much.

I love the show. I listen to it on the way to work now. It deserves 5 entertaimos per episode.

Future ideas:

Where are they now?

You could talk about or even with former creators.

The WWF/Nintendo days

Seaborne Adamson (SP)

Valiant Innovations

Ice cream

an OTV retrospective...It would be great for you guys to get "sound bites" of your best moments to include:

Zeph's singing

Zeph introducing himself (the many names of Z)

Chiclo's run for office

Sean's drunk episode

Chiclo wanting to start a fight with Klingons

that entire new Star Trek argument!

There are oodles more that I can't think of right now.

Did you do one all about the CGC census regarding Valiant?
