After taking the comics scene by storm nearly 20 years ago, the WildStorm Universe titles will end this December. In this soft marketplace, these characters need a break to regroup and redefine what made them once unique and cutting edge. While these will be the final issues published under the WildStorm imprint, it will not be the last we will see of many of these heroes. We, along with Geoff Johns, have a lot of exciting plans for these amazing characters, so stay tuned. Going forward, WildStorm’s licensed titles and kids comics will now be published under the DC banner.

Amid restructuring of DC Warner a universe gets the axe. I, for one, will be very sad to see it go.

Huge news. Grifter is gunna be gutted. Seems a shame to me. I don't read a great deal from the line but it's always offered a good alternative. I fear for Vertigo the way this is going.

I read somewhere that the Vertigo titles that have connections to the DCU like Hellblazer, Swamp Thing, Animal Man, and The Sandman are going to be returning to DC imprint.

While part of me is sad to it go another part me thinks it's thinks it's long overdue the WSU jumped the shark a long time ago and has been floating on the reputation of the works of Alan Moore, Warren Ellis and Mark Millar and they have been trying to recapture the magic of their work with little or no success.

Do we really need the WS characters revamped again? We must actually be closing in on Gen 13 13.

Shame really because the Impact/Red Circle stuff was really cool. I enjoyed it.

God, I hope not. I prefer my DCU to be Wildstorm-free, thanks.

Technically they already are part of the DCU, one of the alternate Earths is Wildstorm.

I agree, Planetary, the end Ellis run of Stormwatch and Stormwatch Volume 2, and The Authority under Millar were awesome, but havent been pumped about much since.

So in the end it was a really good move by Jim Lee to sell off his company all those years ago and go back to just drawing.
