Magnus #1 variant cover - cancelled at DCBS???
I just checked my outstanding DCBS orders and noticed that this was cancelled? Is anyone else seeing this?

Hmm, I had been wondering what the ratio was to regular covers vs. variants.
If you're worried about not getting one, Lone Star Comics has the Reinhold cover in stock:

Sometimes, I don't get the variant covers that I order from DCBS. Sometimes I do.
They are variants. They have to order a number of the regular covers to get the variants. That means not everyone who ordered a variant will get one. I'd imagine that if you ordered the proper amount of the regular (say if it's a 5:1, order 5 regular, one variant), you'd get it.
I didn't get copies of the Haunt 1 variants, the TWD 75 variants, Dynamo 5 variants, but I got my money back. I'm fine with that because I only ordered 1 or a few copies of the regular issue.
You can't expect these people to pull variants out of there *SQUEE* to satisfy demand for people who want the variants, but only 1 or a few regulars.

Were the Solar #1 and Magnus #1 variants 1:1, 1:2, 1:5, 1:25? I never read anything about the ratio or if there was even a ratio. ANybody hear anything about that?400yrs wrote:Sometimes, I don't get the variant covers that I order from DCBS. Sometimes I do.

Or they should at least say in the listing that you need to order a certain amount to guarantee getting a copy of the variant.caxiotis wrote:Were the Solar #1 and Magnus #1 variants 1:1, 1:2, 1:5, 1:25? I ordered 1 regular Solar and 1 variant Solar and got both.
Yeah, I agree with DJ that should say something like you need to order 5 to get a variant or something like that. Otherwise it seems like they're short-changing people rather randomly.
Does DCBS credit your credit card automatically or do they just credit you on a future order?

The last time I had a credit I asked them to refund the money to my card. I bet if you want a credit toward your next order they could do that for you.iggy101us wrote:I ordered 1 regular Solar and 1 variant Solar and got both.

Since we lost out on the pre order discount (thanks DCBS), it will probably cost a buck or two more at least. There are copies on ebay for around 5 bucks, but with shipping it makes it more like 8.dellamorte wrote:the response that I got was that they (dcbs) didn't get a reorder of the books and had to cancel the outstanding copies.
Looks like I need to track a copy down. I hope this isn't going to get expensive.

I never did. Based on what I saw at LCSs though, I'd say it was probably at least 4:1 or 5:1.caxiotis wrote:

You'd think Dark Horse would tell people like the big 2 do.

For me, they usually do credits for future purchases for me. As soon as they know that they aren't getting something (which means that the item has to be cancelled at Diamond), they will credit.iggy101us wrote: Does DCBS credit your credit card automatically or do they just credit you on a future order?
You do have to keep an eye on it though. Sometimes you will go a while and not receive the item and you know it's not coming out (because of news sites and what not), but they don't automatically give you the credit because Diamond never cancels the item. Whatever problem you have, email them. They are good about returning inquiries.

Where do you see that? Do you mean over $50? Are there any codewords running right now?caxiotis wrote:Just saw that Mile High has free shipping on all back issue comics. They probably have the best deal with the free shipping.Brother J wrote:Lone Star has copies in stock for $4.00 and Mile High has them for $4.65, so not too bad.
