Magnus, Robot Fighter #4

Writer: Jim Shooter
Artist: Bill Reinhold
Colorist: Wes Dzioba
Cover Artist: Raymond Swanland
Genre: Science-Fiction
If you hunt and kill a man, it's murder, but what if it's a robot with advanced artificial intelligence? To Magnus, that's murder, too. The Metal Mob's Capo Andronicus runs a "safari" racket patronized by the idle rich, who pay to track sentient Q--ROBs deep in the lawless Goph Lands. Tonight's prey: Q--ROB Steelhammer. Even though Steelhammer is a blood--soaked human killer, Magnus cannot allow him to be hunted like an animal. Interfering with the hunt makes Magnus prey as well . . . dangerous game, indeed. Magnus confronts the Boss of all Bosses, Timur, in a battle for the ages!
"This is what we love about comics: non--stop, kick-*SQUEE* action." --Comic Attack
"Magnus offers a Silver Age tone with enough modern storytelling sensibility to not stick out as being hokey or dated." -IGN
Publication Date: December 08, 2010
Format: FC, 40 pages
Price: $3.99

Yes, it's only a 49¢ increase.cshepard81 wrote:The price increase was from $3.50 with 40 pages to $3.99 with the same number of pages, right? I hope the extra 49 cents (or less, if you're using a pre-order service like DCBS) isn't going to break the bank for anyone who's currently enjoying this series.
I'm not one who use to complain about $3.99 books. However, I'm damn near about to drop Captain America because it's a $3.99 book. None of these DH GK character books will be as good as Captain America to me.
It's not really even the $4 price that *SQUEE* me off. It's that these companies can't put some thought into figuring out how to increase readership, so instead, they raise their prices to pay overpriced, delayed talent.
Dark Horse, Image and other indy types are a bit different and I'm a bit more lenient on $3.50 and $3.99 books, but still, a book has to be good for me to want to spend $3.99 (even considering my dcbs discount) on it.
Magnus might be worthy of the $3.99 price tag for me based on the first issue. Doc Solar is not and I straight up don't want to read it even if it's free.
And don't forget that the page count includes the ads. DH books have a ton of ads. These books will be 22 story pages.
