The Evolution Of Shooter's Doctor Solar
I believe the evolution of Jim Shooter's Doctor Solar can, to some extent, be traced back to his creation and writing of The Beyonder and Star Brand. He seemed interested in writing these types of incredibly powerful characters before he ever scripted Valiant's Solar.

So few, he was one of the few characters that returned often. Met the actor once, he was a jerk just like his characterChiclo wrote:I can see your point but the problem with these sorts of characters is that they are too powerful to write for easily. I understand that that is why Q was featured in so few episodes of Star Trek.

I've heard from a lot of people that Brent Spiner acts the same way.dhudson1 wrote:So few, he was one of the few characters that returned often. Really? I met him once at a small ST con in Shreveport and thought he was pretty cool.dhudson1 wrote:So few, he was one of the few characters that returned often. Like everybody, celebrities have days when they're in a foul mood too. I didn't "meet", but I saw Adrian Paul (Highlander TV series) at Dragon*Con once, and he was one of the jerkiest jerks I've ever seen. But I've heard from others who have met him and he's cool. And my dealings with Harlan Ellison at Dragon*Con lead me to believe he is an absolutely wonderful man - which is not what a lot of other people say. Maybe you caught John DeLancie and I caught Adrian Paul at a bad time.

I met John DeLancie too and I thought he was a decent guy. I don’t remember the exact year but TNG was still on the air.
As a matter of fact, his signature was one of the first obtained which grew into a sizeable collection. If the man would have been a total jerk I probably would not have been so ready to collect Trek autographs (I had already been burned out with professional athletes and sport card collecting).
Now, LeVar Burton is a classy guy. During the 4th or 5th season I wrote to Mr. Burton expressing my liking of the show and how Reading Rainbow helped encourage my interest in reading. The man sent me a free 8X10 personally signed.

The idea definately wasn't realized. Maybe it had no focus, too, though it still ruled when Shooter was writing it. lolOmenSpirits.com wrote:But you agree the idea wasn't realized and the book really had no focus.StarBrand wrote:I don't agree with your opinion that it sucked, at least as far as the Shooter issues go.OmenSpirits.com wrote:Star Brand as a book...sucked, though I liked the art.
