I did not have an "asking price" on any item, so that's just made up. I said I'd consider offers after lots were broken up (which they were), but when someone offered to buy it in a multiple items I took it. Period.
I don't need anyone's permission to finalize a deal and I don't need to reply to every previous inquiry before doing so (I think I can do that the next day (NOTE: I just woke up in my timezone (9 am here) and I accepted the deal last night).
Secondly, from the very beginning I said this is about convenience for me in shipping/selling, which mean bring you best offer first --if you had a counter offer, it should have been your first offer, since I wasn't revealing bids to begin with beyond saying 'I have a better deal on the table".
I was stressing multiple purchases (in this case 3 items). I have NOT at all played anyone's bid against anyone (someone will vouch for me telling them I wouldn't do that in PM), the sole exception being somebody who I wanted to tell/let them know how much a page would cost, when it was evident they were looking for one and had no experience with the range of a Harby#1 page, and I just wanted to tell them what to expect in possible future purchases, as it was clear mine was out of their range--and they ASKED me if that price was in range in general).
Now I know why I never have the inclination to sell anything.
I've exchanged a couple PM's with Jay and it's been nothing but pleasant, to the point discussion.
I had a couple other words to add supporting free game sales, but decided not to as to avoid de-railing this. Personally I think it's cool to see the Harby page come up since I can't remember the last time a page like this was offered
