Still at a 5 but I came into this not expecting them to be as good as the early Valiant runs. We have to remember these are based on the Gold Key characters not the Valiant versions. Sure Solar 1 and even Mags 1 could have been better but I expect these titles to improve as the stories develop. We all know how Jim excels at seeing the "big picture". I just hope Jim is allowed more input/control by DH.
Agree with you on all points.Second_Death wrote:Still at a 5 but I came into this not expecting them to be as good as the early Valiant runs. My enthusiasm has waned with the lack of comics. With 4 ongoing titles there should be a book every few weeks. If/when that starts happening it will get fun.
After reading Solar 1-4 and Magnus 1-3 it seems like the first arcs are to establish the character/world with a more lighthearted adventure story without delving much into origins.
We'll start to get some back story in the second arcs with the backup stories, and hopefully he'll start to smash some of the status quo's he's been setting up. Shooter's best Valiant stories were the unconventional ones

my interest
My interest varies by title after what I've read up to today's releases:
Magnus: 4.5 out of 5 LOVE IT
Turok: 3.5 out of 4, like it so far but need to see more
Samson: 2.5 out of 5, could go either way
Solar: 1 out of 5, just can't get into it but never was a big Solar fan

I'm at a one. If each of these books reach their tenth issues, then maybe my excitement will shoot up again. The delays and zero promotion on Dark Horse's part is doing nothing to help. I'll still buy the books on release day but i'm not anxious for them like before. I predict March will be another skip month for the line too.
