I've been browsing the comics on ebay fairly regularly for the past couple of weeks. Some of the prices have amazed me.
One listing had the full set of a six issue mini, I forget the title, listed at NM for a buy it now price of $75 (I think it was) plus $14 shipping. Several other listings had the same set listed at NM for $29 and less with shipping between $5 and $9.

It's funny how often dumb ideas go hand in hand with not doing any research.Chuck64 wrote:I've been browsing the comics on ebay fairly regularly for the past couple of weeks. Some of the prices have amazed me.

I was just going to do a post showing this guy's website:

Ironically, this is the gentleman who I bought my initial Valiant box from for $40 over a year ago. When I asked him about buying Pre-Unity books, he quoted me the individual prices on his site.
You've got to look at the various sections of the comics for sale per the link above. Seriously...this stuff is funny

Isn't that what happens if you "Make an Offer" and get it accepted?Daniel Jackson wrote:It says "sold for", but you're right, there isn't a bid history.Doorman wrote:that guy asks for silly prices on his website.

Could be, but why would they not include the ID of the buyer just because of that? Other than ebay is strange.....greg wrote:Isn't that what happens if you "Make an Offer" and get it accepted?Daniel Jackson wrote:It says "sold for", but you're right, there isn't a bid history.Doorman wrote:that guy asks for silly prices on his website.

"Spawn #1 - #18: A Todd McFarlane rip-off of Tim Vigil's Faust."
So, how much for 18 rip-off comic books? $100.

Yeah, it certainly is an interesting phenomenon that I had to share with you guys.
My guess is that he must have bought when the market actually supported the prices he's still asking for. Are the prices still that high because he actually paid for that much? What do you guys think?
I certainly don't want to be super mean talking about the guy...it's just that i'm curious what would facilitate a lack of reduction in price in the current comic market?
