What one Valiant title would you want published?

Post by Todd Luck »

If Taddeo goes with his orginal idea of starting small with one title which one would you like it to be? This is what you would LIKE to see published in an ideal world, not what you think will probably end up being publshed. I left out the Gold Key characters for obvious reasons (the world's not THAT ideal I guess :) )

The vote is for the concept itself. When it's published it may be a reboot, a retcon, an exact continuation of were the old VH-1 series left off, or a drastically different version than what the series was left with, since ten years have now passed in VH-1.

Write ins are welcome.

I voted for EW because it could be used as a jumping off point for every other title...lots of possiblities around it. :thumb:

That's a REALLY tough choice. I'll cop out and go with Shadowman simply because Bob is such a nice guy :thumb:

That's one of the reasons the original Secret Weapons was in there, since it was essentially Geoff's book. Plus for those who want a team-up book (a la DC Comics Presents or Brave and Bold), they've got a good one (loved the orginal Secret Weapons myself).

Didn't think that many people liked the actual Geomancer series or Clay McHenry (though I thought the first few issues were really interesting myself, before the series went into a downward spiral like everything else at the time).

That's not too bad an idea, either EW or Timewalker could be used to set a new beginning.

I chose EW. Harbinger if done by Shooter would be my Favorite, but if it's only one title it would have to be one where other characters could come into and out of the story. EW is good for that or maybe even a Geomancer book or a Harada book.

I don't think they shuld bring back Boniface. I think they should stick to the Rai 0 timeline. They could create a new Shadowman. That is the second title I'd like to see published. If anything comes out, it's going to be X-O who is probably the least involved character in the Valiant universe.

I agree, as much as I liked Jack as Shadowman, it was known for a long time that he would perish in 1999. Even though he is not a VH1 character, I really liked the way Mike LeRoi was developing as the new Shadowman and I thought the whole premise of Deadside was very promising. I would be pleased if they could somehow use this.

I've just been playing the first Shadowman game on Playstation 1. Mike LeRoi is a very cool Shadowman, but not as dramatic as I'd like. How about the new Shadowman be The Shadow King?? I have Bob's fully inked Model Sheet for that one! :thumb: ---Steve

I don't see what the problem would be with Jack as Shadowman.

Either:

A) We set the series back in 1995 and pick up right where we left off.

B) Jack "got better" after Sept 9th 1999. Someone posted an email from Bob Hall
at some point indicating he would've like to have resurrected Jack after Sept 9th
if he could have. Even Shooter's version of Jack in U2000 lived long after his
"grizzly death" on Sept. 9th.

C) It' a retcon and we start at the beginning again. Same great flavor but without
so much convoluted, retroactive backstory and the changes in his powers every 5 months :) .

I suppose I could live with a new Shadowman as long as Darque was in there
but I doubt anyone could live up to good old Jack.

Jeez, I was just joking around about the dead comment... wether it's Jack or not, just so long as it's a good story with great art.

This is a conversation we've been having for a few weeks now if
Jack should be in a new Shadowman series if it comes to that.
I chuckled at your earlier joke :) .

Wasn't Shadow King a Bob Layton concept?
