MAGNUS Robot Fighter mini pins from SDCC

Post by Knightt »

Does anybody have any of one or two extra of the small Magnus pins that were given out at the San Diego Comic Convention (SDCC) ? Not asking for a freebie here, I'll gladly pay for it/them and shipping.

I was able to score a single copy of the Convention Signature Book (and THANK YOU to the board member who sent it to me, I forget who it was, please PM me !!) with the Solar cover (I am really happy with the cover) but that was it, I would like to get one more as well as the Solar #1 SDCC book but those are out there on the 'bay, just have to find one cheap. I missed out on the whole Dark Horse freebie set by missing the Con (AGAIN) this year...

If anybody can hook me up, please PM me. They look like a nice piece of memorabilia.

Was anyone able to score some for themselves ? Just curious.

I did not see or get a pin. Someone on the board talked about how there was maybe 1 bag of them and that's it. But I'm not sure.

Has anybody gotten a Magnus #1 variant cover from their LCS ? My LCS owner gave me some scattered story about them coming soon, blah blah, global warming effecting print runs, blah blah 1 in 5 distribution, I'll make sure you get one....

got one of each cover at the better shop in the area, both at cover price. Stopped in the other, not so good shop and was surprised to see they did actually have copies of Magnus #1, but only the Swanland cover. They had absolutely no Solar #1, and I went in the week they came out. Their ordering is pretty weak as they seem to concentrate on that table game crap.

There were a few auctions last week on ebay with a Magnus button featuring the Raymond Swanland cover art too.

My understanding is more of these buttons were given away at Baltimore. I wouldn't be surprised if these get more common. Keep watching eBay. Someone affiliated with Dark Horse has a button machine!

Hey man, that is cool... I DID score a Solar mini pin from comicsyte today in the mail but would really like a second, if you don't mind. LMK

You only have one Magnus in your 'stuff though (I would count it lucky that BOTH pins were not lost in that thrashed package they came in).

I am getting stupid crazy about these pins, folks !!! So wanting a Magnus pin and a Mass Effect II pin. Never got crazy for anything like this before but here I am like a teenager again going crazy... I love it.

I am going to bump this again as I have a change... I was able to get one Solar pin and am now looking to get a Magnus mini pin. Does anyone have one for sale ?

I'd also like to get one of the Mass Effect 2 pins... they look pretty cool.

I received an email from Dark Horse two weeks ago, replying to my query on how to buy a few pins. A real nice guy emailed and said he would hook me up, what was I looking for and needed my address.

I received a Dark Horse envelope with a DH stationary hand written note reading 'enjoy' with the following buttons insides, all in beautiful shape:

Solar Man of the Atom
Magnus Robot Fighter
Mass Effect
Conan
Terminator

And actually I got a slight Solar pin variant. I have a Solar close-up large lettering and a Solar zoomed out small lettering. I mean one is just a larger picture but it is noticeable.

This was VERY nice of Dark Horse to finally reply to my email and then send me some free swag, now bringing my Dark Horse pin collection to:

Solar Man of the Atom
Magnus Robot Fighter
Mass Effect
Conan
Terminator
Trouble Maker (red)
Umbrella Academy (orange)
"We love comics too!" (blue)

Now I am hooked on collecting any pins that Dark Horse has made. Does anyone know of any other pins ?

THANK YOU to those who have helped me reach my Solar/Magnus goal and THANK YOU to Dark Horse for hooking me up !!!

There's a Star Wars one and '"Goon" out there too. And one with the Dark Horse image over a checker background.

Any chance you could put up a pic of those pins? Or a link to one?

Just starting out here. Apologies - :funnypost: I really want to see them first. If I like them, I'll start hunting around for them. I didn't see any active ebay sales now. Starting on the pin acquisition would be a slippery slope for me (completion compulsive). I've managed to stay away from the old Valiant pins... so far... Don't want to get going on something else...
