How many Malibu Genesis pogs?

Comic universes no longer active, Bravura, Continuity, CrossGen, Future, Malibu, Ultraverse... and others that are 'no longer with us' today (or only recently brought back).

How many Malibu Genesis pogs?

Post by Todd Luck »

I just got some bagged issues of Malibu's Genesis crossover with pogs in them. So far I've got pogs numbered G 1-6. I've got:

G1 Resse (a Dinosaur for Hire)
G2 Shannon (an Ex-Mutant)
G3 Ferret
G4 Gravestone
G5 Man of War
G6 Widow Maker (a Protectors character)

Are there others or do I have them all?

Where their any other comics that ploybagged pogs in them other than Malibu Genesis? I have some vague memory I got some superhero pogs from other comics but I could be wrong.

To answer my own question, I just found an editorial printed in the Genesis titles during the second month of the crossover that lists all the pogs. There are just the six I listed.

Anybody have any extra pogs ? I find myself now looking for these and will probably put them in my card collection books. I will pay a couple bucks for a complete set plus s/h.

I am still up for trying to get these pogs, does anybody have any they want to sell or toss my way ? I can't imagine them being worth much but I am not stupid, something is usually not for free. I know here in the DU we give a lot (I recently sent out a large Priority Mail box full of some Daredevil issues that I pulled but I love doing that stuff) so I am trying to say, I am not asking for a hand out.

Anybody have any extras ?

How heavy are you into non-sports (i.e. superheroes, movies) trading cards ? I have a HUGE collection and have numerous dupe cards, if you have any dupes or whatever maybe we can do some trading ? I have over 15,000 common cards as well if you are missing any from a set, I might have it.

I do have one pog, I would have to check, it might be Manowar. Not sure.

Geez, I must have over 40 binders full of sets or combined sets etc.

You ?

I ain't really into any kind of trading cards. But when my cousin gave me his entire comic collection it had about 1000 various cards in with it. The Malibu pog I have is Shannon.

Here are some old Ultraverse pogs I picked up a while back. I think there is a set of 60 or something.

I don't think they are too rare, it's just that no one sells pogs anymore, do they? Probably a giant warehouse full of these somewhere.

The ones I have all came in one package, including the slammer thing and a couple of weird looking ones.

I think they are pretty cool (and I SO skoffed at them when they came out). Are the wierd looking ones Ultraverse related as well ?

I meant the white one (it has Prime on it) and a silver foil one. I guess they aren't that weird.

Uh oh. This feels dangerous. I love danger! (when it's nerdy danger anyway) Hey Knightt/anyone else who can answer positively, do you have any spares of the box toppers from the CGW cardset (or VH2 for that matter)?

I may have ONE, not sure which character though, maybe The Machine... why ?

I am WAY short on completing that pretty good card set.

I have ONE Armorines box topper from the Acclaim seires (you mean VE II right ?)

I have a lot of the VE1 chase cards I could use as trade bait if anyone is willing to trade. Only card I am hoarding is the X-O Manowar Quesada piece. I just digs me some holofoil. I think I have 3-5 of the card.

But as far as first appearances (sweet looking cards) I have plenty, as well as the Unity chase cards.

I've just been into CGW lately and wanted to get started on the toppers since I imagine those are the toughest parts besides the platinum sourcebook. Figured you were a good guy to check with.

I tried looking last night for my CGW cardset but with all the darn un-named binders full of cards and being on the top shelf of my closet, after a while I just said to myself 'I will check on this later with a step strool'. I am pretty sure I have 'The Machine' as an extra topper, if I do have it as an extra it is yours.

I will get to it this weekend as I have been dedicating my weekends to bagging/boarding new aquisitions, then putting them in their designated spot THEN going through my checklist and making the apropriate update to that list or even ADDING new finds from the board.

But it you need it, it is yours.

Sounds good (since I've only seen one box on ebay and no toppers) I'm very glad that there are only six.

I too scoffed at this and all other pogs, skycaps or whatever f*****d up name they gave them that week.
It was one of the lamest ideas ever in terms of collectibles, games etc.

Anyway, now i want them all, but only for 50p

I found another auction with Ultraverse pogs. I doubt it was the Ultraverse pogs that drove the price up but it went pretty high - about $36 shipped from Canada.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... MEWAX%3AIT

This lot had a bunch of Spawn Spogs, though.

I am going to get an Ultraverse pog set eventually.
