Awesome find Dan! I'd be enjoying my comic treasure finding high for a month or more with that one! :thumb:

Went to the Capicon this weekend and was shocked to get the following all for $1 each in NM condition.

New Mutants #87 (1st Cable, 1st Print)
New Mutants #98 (1st Deadpool)
Solar Man of the Atom #1
Solar Man of the Atom #2

What's more shocking was I didn't get around to this dealer until 2 hours after the show started. So many folks went through those dollar bins and no one caught the NM#98.

I bought a copy of Curt Swan: A Life in Comics on Amazon the other day. I noticed that copies were pretty expensive (around $35 for the hardcover) but someone had a copy up used for $4.89. The listing said that the book was missing the dust jacket and had library markings, but I just wanted to read it so I snagged it.

Got the book in the mail today and not only does it have the dust jacket, but the jacket and the entire book are PERFECT. Not a tear or wrinkle to be found.

Score!

Yeah, I got totally lucky! Wasn't even looking for it, I came across it after lunch with a friend at a comic street vendors table.

I had to go run errands and hope it was still there when I got back. Luckily, it was.

Went to a small con. Not much Valiant presence at all. The only things on the walls were a Bloodshot #1 $2 and a Harbinger trade $3.

I didn't get any steals, but I picked up a few nice things for what I consider reasonable prices and finished off 2 big collections in the process.

Valiant pick ups:
Rai 4 $5
X-O Ivory 0 (2 copies) $1 each just because I know I can flip them for a few bucks credit.
X-O 42 $1 - this completes my Valiant reader set.

I saw a few Magnus 1 and 2s for $5, a Magnus 64 with a tear for $5 and a Solar 60 for $20 but passed on those. Tons of Valiant commons in bargain bins.

Amazing Spider-man 136, and another high grade Green Goblin cover $5 each - upgrades
Usagi #1 fantagraphics - $3 or 5 can't recall. an upgrade.
Web of Spider-man #1 $5 - pricey, but an upgrade
Punisher 10 $1 a $1 or cheaper hoard book for me
Batman - 2 Year One issues $1 each
Killing Joke 2nd print for my shelf $3
Iron Fist #2 and 6 or 10 or something like that HG $5 each.
Marvel Premiere 15 (1st Iron Fist) low grade reader $2
A few SiPs that I probably shouldn't have gotten fro $1 each.
Groo Special #1 (Eclipse) $1 - this was probably the best deal I got.
A few other odds and ends that I'm not remembering

Finally, I've been looking for a beater of Amazing Spider-Man #3 to finish off my complete run. I finally found one. It's beat, but complete. I probably paid about ebay price for it, but I liked that I didn't have to deal with bidding and I could see it in hand. That's the end of my ASM run.

Congrats on completing your ASM run!

I'm almost there myself. Just need 10 more books which might take a little while since my comic budget is zapped for the rest of the year.

So which run will you aim for next? :P

Thanks!

I'm about 20 issues away on Daredevils through #330 so that will be next. The big ones that I need are #1 and #7. I'm in no rush at all to finish this though. Hell, I needed an ASM #3 for 15 years or so.

After that, Iron Man is probably the next run that I have a bunch of already.
