Calero's twitter feed mentioned that his wife was having a baby - perhaps that's the reason for the artist change?Crow331 wrote:Yeah I just noticed that! Looks like Shooter got his way when he said he was disappointed in the art.

I didn't really care for the art in the Solar FCBD issue, so I'm glad Robinson is on board.
Roger Robinson > Dennis Calero.

Oh sweet, I didn't realise that was who he was. That was really distinctive stuff.leonmallett wrote:I really, really enjoyed Roger Robinson's work on the vastly overlooked The Web.Crow331 wrote:Yeah I just noticed that! Looks like Shooter got his way when he said he was disappointed in the art.

Robinson did interiors on almost the entire run of the lead feature (except #5 I think), while the covers were by Stanley Lau (aka Artgerm).ian_house wrote:Oh sweet, I didn't realise that was who he was. He inked his own stuff on about half the issues, in a style that could suit Dr. Solar. On the Web I preferred Hilary Barta's inks, but that style might not suit the tone of Dr. Solar as well as his own inking.
ok so i think the magnus covers look outstanding.
what about the interiors ? im not familiar with that persons work
the new solar art isnt much better then number one .
the interior work for turok is disgusting . but that cover looks amazing
i know its kind of early , but im starting to already feel like this re launch will be much like hoping for a new metallica cd that is actually good.
you hear about the new cd , you hear it's good . you buy it only to be dissapointed yet again.............. im feeling the same way about this re launch. just go back and enjoy your old valiant issues............. larry bird aint walking through that door

i also remember not being fond of the art when valiant began/ what drew me in was the storyraymondsolar wrote:WOW! This is surreal. Like I stated in another post this is the same reception the artwork for the early Pre Unity Valiant comic books got when they were released. They were even bashing on BWS. I believe the writing and story arcs will keep most if not everyone around though and build interest in the line.damien308 wrote:viewtopic.php?t=31316

im not giving up on this , just wish they would have gotten somewhat better artists.
