I've went to this show before. It's ok for a small local show, but nothing special. The Merchants Square Mall is basically a flea market type of place, and the time I went, it really had a strong odor to it. This was even before entering the show room and facing the usual fanboy odor.

biggest names are Lee Weeks and Mark McKenna, both with Valiant/Acclaim credits.

Friend of mine went to WW Philly a couple weeks ago and that was a bust, so I highly doubt this would be worth the trip unless you are right in the area.

I went to the previous one and scored a lot of goodies. There were plenty of dealers with cheap bins. My favorite!

Aw, you had to go and say that, That's my addiction, cheap bins...

Maybe I could scrape together a few bucks and make it.

There's one in Philly by the airport that I've been known to attend, not sure if that's too far for you, Doorman, but I figure it's not much further than Allentown:

They just had it yesterday, I didn't attend, next one is in September.

oh wow! thanks for the head's up. my sister lives in philly so it wouldn't be too much trouble to head down.

i was at the scranton con on that sunday but, if the schedule's clear I may hit up the September one. They're claiming 60 tables.... that's a lotta comics!

hooray for cheap bins.

back on to allentown con, though. you're right! there is a strange scent at the merchants square mall. luckily, my nose got used to it quickly enough so i could get to digging through bins without it bothering me.

I'm going to be heading to this show, not bringing much money, so hopefully there is lots of good cheap bins!

i know two of the guys going ... and they've already told me they'll have plenty of cheap bins. i always get great hauls from them ... and i'm sure there will be others out there.

if you see me, be sure to say hi! i'll be the guy furiously digging through bins with a large pick pile ... or like this

didn't see you, but then I was pretty focused on rooting through the cheap bins. I wore my "Valiantfans Fighting Cystic Fibrosis" T-shirt, so if anyone saw it they might know I was someone from the board. I got some really nice deals and didn't pay much more than $20 total. I'll post about the deals I got in the Bragging Rights thread at some point. Now I have to run out to the LCS and get some more bags for my new acquisitions and I might as well also pick up a copy of Solar #1.

glad you got some good deals. you should have picked up bags/boards there, though. there was a guy selling (100) bags for $4 and (100) boards for $6!

yeah, I really should have, thought I had enough when I was there, though. My LCS charged $4.95 last time I bought them. I went into a shop that's a little closer yesterday, but they wanted $11 for bags and were totally sold out on Dr. Solar #1. That's not really saying much, because these guys don't order much of anything.
