I got it. No problem :D

So I just got home from the show. Had an AWESOME time. Got tons of comics and pretty much every major comic on my want list. How cool is that?!?

Few things:

1. It had been 16 years since I last went to heroescon. Full day on the show floor standing up, walking, leaning over to look at boxes, and whatnot can frustrate ones back. Wish there was a seating area on the show floor. There was definitely space for it. Which leads to...

2. I heard two dealers talking about how Shelton had called several dealers at the last minute begging for them to come to the show. They had alot of floorspace to fill. Worries me about the current state of conventions. Which leads to...

3. Many dealers told me they were doing terrible for the weekend. Several said this would probably be their last heroescon. :( The guys with tons of .25,.50, and 1.00 boxes seemed to have steady business. I can't remember seeing folks trying to throw their premium "wall" comics at folks to sell them like they did this year. I got great deals and couldn't be happier, but its still a concern for the future.

Overall, I was happy. I felt bad for Mark Bagley. He was off near the entrance all by his lonesome really until Tim Sale's plane finally showed up. It got sadder then because the line for Sale basically blocked Bagley out of the way.I was told Adam Hughes was a jerk, but he was cool to my buddy signing a Serenity comic while he was eating lunch.

I've heard Hughes can be difficult. He was the original "regular" artist for Ghost, from Dark Horse. He was signed for a year. He ended up producing 3 issues and about half of another. He did complete about 8 covers. The reason the editor gave was "quality of work" and a monthly schedule conflicting with one another. I remember reading elsewhere that Hughes wanted to do every other book, get paid full price for only doing covers on the books he didn't do the interiors for and be allowed to turn in his work when he was ready, instead of anything resembling a real deadline. It seems to me he wanted to break contract and there was a better way to do it than what he did, so hearing him being a jerk to fans is just a step to the side on how he conducts his overall biz.
