Notice the C2E2 edition doesn't say "FCBD" anywhere on the cover.

:?
While most of my posts here are clearly not as the Overstreet guy, this one is:

The C2E2 edition of the FCBD Solar/Magnus issue IS a variant.

(So let it be written. So let it be done.)

The reason for this certainty is that the indicia is the same, the contents are the same, and the interior was undoubtedly printed at exactly the same time as the FCBD issue.

Hope this helps.

I'm expecting once the regular line is launched collectors will be finding this variant for the first time while looking for the regular back issues...
This thread has slowed way down because available copies have diminished.

So, is my $9.99 copy plus shipping the lowest sale?

Four or five copies just went up with start times near each other with opening bids between 4.99 and 9.99. Might be a good time to pick on of these up reasonably.

I finally bit the bullet and bought one, $15.50 shipped, I guess that's an OK price... :?

JCV, does that set of criteria also apply to newsstand vs. direct editions?
That's a very good question, Greg.

Generally speaking, when we know for certain or at least for a reasonable certainty that the interior is printed at the same time, it would be pretty easy to make the case.

That said, there are a lot of exceptions to this, many of which will be outlined when Overstreet #40 comes out this summer. It has the most comprehensive lot at variants we've ever done (including some help from you, of course!).

One of the things that really drove me crazy as a collector and as the guy documenting this stuff was the Marvel newsstand variants around the time Bendis was on Daredevil. Completely different title, same cover, no numbering...
I managed to come across one randomly and was instantly hooked

Was going to make an offer on these, but the description says very good condition. Either they have problems, or the seller doesn't know how to grade, which is still a problem to me.

Always best to leave well alone when the seller uses incorrect terminology methinks.

Yep, good advice. No telling what condition they are in.
