Well here go's

Post by megatronthe3rd »

It was the 90's and being a Marvel Zombie I was getting burned out even then of the same old. I picked up X-O with issue 6 and was hooked. Went back and bought the trade along with issue 5 to complete the story. X-O was then and still is my all-time favorite.

I attended the Transformers convention Botcon for 10+ years and then came the movies. Lost all interest, which brings us back to Valiant. Over the years Valiant books have been one of the best kept secrets and it is frustrating that the company no longer exists or at least puts books out.
Everytime a new superhero movie comes out that's all you hear about. Soon it will be Iron Man. Oh course it will be cool put it's nice to have some great memories with the Valiant Universe. It's a private club.

I stayed with X-0 all the way thru the Acclaim relaunch to issue 5 but was just not into it. The early issues up to about 50 still hold up as some of my favorite all time reads. Go back and look at issue 1.
It tells an entire story!!! In todays comic stories that would have been broken up into at least 3 parts!
Anyway I don't post much but I love to read and stay in the loop, and while I know I'm not the biggest fan I do love the Valiant and I'm attempting to piece together what I need to finish up my runs.

Welcome! X-O Manowar was my favorite Valiant series as well. Its kind of depressing that 1 or 2 Marvel movies come out a year, and while their very cool(and i like them all),they wouldnt hold up a candle to a Valiant character based movie.

one common theme from people's valiant story is that many started out with X-O Manowar. I cannot think of a bigger complement to the creators of X-O. Very impressive.

Nice story, I like what you said about Valiant being like a 'private club.' I like to think of it that way too. I mean, Marvel titles, DC titles - all for the masses but Valiant or Defiant were exclusive....like a well kept secret that only we know of...
