The new Punisher movie...
Ok....there's something about the trailers that I've seen that say...um....'cheesy and lame'. Thomas Jane as Frank Castle? He's not big enough, he's not muscly enough, and although he's a fine enough actor....he's just not got that Punny vibe.....
And the whole 'no one's ever stood up for me before' by the stoned junkie line? Ugh.
Gouda. Aged.
Sigh.
You heard it here first: ZPH predicts megaflop for latest Marvel flick.

Man I can not wait to see this movie...I think that it looks totally awesome...of course I do not need any high brow stuff to make me happy...All I need are some cool guns and some A$$ kicking....and this movie looks like it has both....oh and some hot girls and some rockin explosions would be nice also....this movie and van heisling both look really good to me...I think that van heisling looks like Indian Jones fights Dracula....and werewolf.......and frankenstien....how can you go wrong?

Yeah, that pretty much sums up what I was thinking. Don't get me wrong, I WANT this movie to succeed, I really do....but if the trailers are any clue, and that's supposedly the best they've got...well, it's just another run of the mill action flick, a la anything starring Vin Diesel.
By the by....did anyone notice Hellboy's blatant rip-of....er, 'homage'...of X-Men 2 with their print ad showing hellboy in front of a dark black and gray circle like 'thing'? No, it's not the same design, sure....but the color, shading, digital effects...exactly the same as that of X2's featured print ad.

Well it could be worse...look at The Alamo...that movie is a horrible failure. I think the Punisher will make some money...I know that I plan on seeing it...it also has to be released over seas...and to dvd...55 Million is not a look to spend on a movie these days..I have heard good thigns from the people who have seen it...I think that it got screwed opening against the new QT flick Kill Bill 2...If it had opened this weekend I think that it would have done well against man on fire or whatever the new denzel movie is...ZephyrWasHOT!! wrote:Wellllll...hate to say I told ya so, but.....$13Mil opening, at a cost of $55...yikes.

After seeing the movie, I want to kick whoever did the trailers in the nuts. There was a lot to like about this movie, but none of it was used for the trailers to get me interested.
It was a good representation of the character. Even the changes they made fit and flowed well with the character's concept.
Overall, I would give it an 8 out of 10. For comparison, I ranked Spider-Man as a 9.5.

This movie will make sooo much money the could budget the sequel and still have cash left over for a set of vvss's
The film will do $40 million at the US box office, probably another $60 worldwide. Then another $30-40 in DVD & VHS sales, and another $30-40 in DVD & VHS rentals. Plus $10 million from pay per view, cable and local channel packages as well as merchandising etc.

Saw it last night and I think that I might be seeing it again...nothing to hokey about it...well the shirt thing..but other than that everything was rather good...well maybe the becoming "family" thing...but oh well....everyone dies and everything explodes....hell frank castle is saved by a firey explosion...I mean if an explosion can save him how you going to kill him...yeah I think that we might be getting punisher movies for a while now....and I likey
Oh yeah this movie will make money since it didnt cost a ton to make...I think that it might do just as well this weekend as it did last weekend...maybe a touch better...i think that this movie will get by on word of mouth....if you like *SQUEE* kicking then this is the movie for you...
