2010 Inkwell Nominating Committee/Boston Comic Con
Hey all just wanted to post a couple of important Inkwell news.
First up is about the Boston Comic Con this weekend, and the new donation sketch book.
2010 Inkwell Awards Donation Drive book to debut at Boston Comic Con
On April 10-11 at the Boston Comic Con (http://www.bostoncomiccon.com/) The Inkwell Awards will introduce their second Donation Book, collecting every single donation on file to date from the artist community for the charity. Comic book sized and at 104 pages, including a text section by writer and committee member Daniel Best, a run down of the 2009 awards recipients, endnotes, and Ms. Inkwell, the charity spokesmodel herself, narrating through the book's contents, the squarebound issue will sell for $14.95. The Variant edition will be available first with a blank cover for sketches. A regular edition with Ms. Inkwell on the cover will debut at the Pittsburgh Comicon on April 23-25 (http://www.pittsburghcomicon.com/). Produced by committee member Jimmy Tournas, Bob Almond said "this has been a monster of a project, months in the works, and in the end a nice addition to the bookshelf" (the 2009 sketchbook was produced by committee member Bob Shaw). Next year the organization plans a Ms. Inkwell-themed booklet with all of designer Randy Green's prelim and sketch art as well as a step-by-step from Nathan Massengill of his inks and proofs of his colors for the character.
Bob Almond will include his conceptual info/origin for her, as well as photos of the live model Chrissy Cutler. The bonus section of the book will include pin-up interpretations of the character from among the comic book artist community.

2010 Nominating Committee revealed!
Repeating the process initiated last year, the Inkwell Awards has selected several professionals from among the community to act as Nominators to nominate their favorite ink artists from work in the year 2009 befitting the five categories on the ballot. Some members are returning for a second shot at participation such as retailer/promoter Larry Harrison, Comixtreme site owner and reviewer Andrea Speed, writer/photographer/marketer Buddy Scalera, and Executive Committee Member of the Canadian Comic Book Creators Awards Association Robert Haines. The list contains a diversity of areas in the community such as podcasters, writers, retailers, letterers, agents, and more. Ballots have been tallied and the IA Core Commitee will proceed in validating the eligibility of the nominees in the coming weeks.
The Joe Sinnott Hall of Fame Nominators have also submitted their ballots for that category and the nominees have been tallied and selected.
The final ballot public will go live at the website (http://www.inkwellawards.com) on August 1st.
