my (short) story
I recently started getting back into comics over the course of the last two years or so. During the early 90's, I collected everything from Valiant to Image (and all those X books). I remember getting a few Valiant titles (Magnus was a favorite), but I could never get my hands on any pre-unity stuff (too expensive for a 7th grader). I eventually stopped collecting around the time that the speculator bubble burst.
A few years ago I started digging through my old comics and came to the realization that the Valiant titles were actually very well written (from an adult perspective). I began buying back issues over the internet, including all the books that I couldn't afford as a kid. I got hooked on all of the wonderful stories that Shooter wrote and I haven't looked back since!
