He's a brick...house! I'm going to wait until the cover to issue 2 is finished by Steve Williams before I spill anything else on this guy. :)

I think the cover's going to tell quite a story, and I don't want to ruin that story until I can post it here.

We officially have an 'order will ship by' date of 3-8 on Surprising Theater 1. After that, it should be around 5-6 days to get the copies to our lavish offices :D in Phoenix via UPS.

Thanks for the encouragement, Tim. Stuart Berryhill has already finished pencils and inks on a 7 page Golden Age Leaf story written by John Michael Helmer for issue 2. The cover featuring art by Steve Williams is looking sharp for that issue as well.

So... could there be like a board project for this where it's signed by Hobo and 'rino?

Good idea. The board has certainly been kind to our young company, generously allowing us to discuss things here and give us feedback, not to mention providing lots of our talent.
What are thoughts on exactly what would be entailed in the board project? I think it would involve issue 2, as both of those talented guys are working on issue 2.
Thanks.

Mostly the reason I wanted to pick up a second copy of the first issue is to mail one to Hobo to get signed.

Really, at the sigs, my big ideas end. Sorry to run out of ideas so quickly.

Well, you had the most important idea, the initial one. Let's see if we get more feedback. :thumb:

Honestly? I'd like to do a jam-style pic with 'Rino, have x-omatic and/or George ink it (assuming they're up for it) and do a limited 50-100 copy run based on the # of people wanting it. Then have the all the folks involved sign it. A sort of VF.com special ed. with Unknowntales, Della, BOH, MOTA, Starbrand, Supergrapics (Hell, we've got a few colorists here too.) Basically anyone you're willing to fit into a single issue, assuming the logistics can be worked, just select stories already published in the preceding Surprising books, add a new cover with room for the sigs . . .

Of course this is a great excuse to have a Surprising table at a good-sized con soon . . . :D

Sounds good. I think we'll need to wait about 3 months to finish issue 2 before beginning work on it. That would give us more product and more creators involved to select from.

That would be cool to get everyone you mentioned involved in this. I think we'd need a few short stories scripted for the project, as it's going to be awhile before we could get all these guys involved in our regular publications.

Most def. :thumb: That gives us time to develop a nice cover design and concept.

We're going to have to carefully plot out what we're going to do with page count and the like on this project. The creators will be taking the discussion on this project elsewhere, away from this thread. I'll let you creators know where this discussion will be moved to shortly. :thumb:
