I guess you can be both at the same time.
I have an LLC that I use for consulting work, but I'm not incorporated.
INC really refers to a "C" corporation
LLC holds benefits like a C Corp for liability purposes but avoid double taxation by being treated like a partnership by the IRS
I think the above holds true, however it's been a while since the exam

A Limited Liability Company or a company with limited liability (abbreviated L.L.C. or LLC or W.L.L) is a flexible form of business enterprise that blends elements of partnership and corporate structures. It is a legal form of business company, in the law of the vast majority of United States jurisdictions, that provides limited liability to its owners. Often incorrectly called a "limited liability corporation" (instead of company), it is a hybrid business entity having certain characteristics of both a corporation and a partnership or sole proprietorship (depending on how many owners there are). An LLC, although a business entity, is a type of unincorporated association and is not a corporation. The primary characteristic an LLC shares with a corporation is limited liability, and the primary characteristic it shares with a partnership is the availability of pass-through income taxation. It is often more flexible than a corporation and it is well-suited for companies with a single owner.
An LLC can elect to be taxed as a sole proprietor, partnership, S corporation or C corporation (as long as they would otherwise qualify for such tax treatment), providing much flexibility.

I lost interest. Outside of lawsuits, there have been very few updates these past several years. I had been telling myself that in the event that VEI ever published new comics, I'd give them a shot if they looked good, but now I don't even know if I'll do that. With any luck Jim Shooter's new works will show up in Dark Horse's solicitations in the next month or two, and I'll get my Magnus/Solar fix there. I still love my old Valiants, but I've pretty much given up on VEI recapturing that magic.slym2none wrote:Frittering away the time while their core audience loses interest, grows old, and dies?GJB wrote:I like how they often mention they own the "former 65 million dollar unit" of Acclaim.
What are they up to next anyway? Comics? Movies?

This pretty much echos my thoughts except that I may have lost interest in my old valiants too.cshepard81 wrote:I lost interest. You can add Ian Feller to the list of people who works/worked at VEI. He seems to be involved with VEI's marketing somehow since he appeared as a contact in some of their past announcements. It kind of makes sense since he was a PR Director at Crossgen.

Comics Nexus wrote:And, there’s also a new company called Valiant Entertainment that plans to publish the other old 1990s Valiant published properties with hard cover reprints of Harbinger and X-O Manowar. I’m looking forward to offerings of Eternal Warrior(s) and Bloodshot.
