Convention Sketches

From Heroescon '96 (Charlotte, NC) - I got some great sketches from this show (a Mike Wieringo Batman, a full figure Hawkman by Steve Lieber, and a Bob Burden), but unfortunately most of them got ripped off some years later. This one survived because it was hanging on my wall.

Brainiac by Mike Wieringo. Mike Wieringo is my favorite artist of all time so when my Batman sketch was ripped off I was positively crushed. I would have rather lost the Ross Superman than that one. I was talking to him about getting another one, but sadly before he could do it he passed away. I told a good friend about the situation and he immediately went to his sketchbooks and asked me which Wieringo sketch I wanted (he has quite a few). I picked this one.

The Flash by Mike Wieringo. When I saw this on eBay there was no way this was getting by me!

Thanks! Phil Hester does sketches dirt cheap, but they're usually just simple head sketches. He took forever to do mine and when I got it I was amazed. I emailed him to tell him how much I liked it, and he said he usually just does marker or pen sketches but he took so long to do mine that he wanted to do a little extra for my being patient.
