I didn't get into Valiant until VERY recently; around the end of 2007. I started out by reading Bloodshot, X-O, then after that Solar. That got me hooked. Then from there read Harbinger, then Unity. I've been a fan ever since. I've read other books off and on, but I haven't really go into the post-Shooter Valiant. There is just so much to read, and I've so little free time as it is nowadays.
I think Alpha and Omega is one of the greatest graphic stories of all time. BWS' art was amazing, and Shooter's writing was great. I've read the book over and over, and it never gets boring. THAT is what really got me interested in Valiant.
It's funny, because I remember getting interested in Valiant for the first time back in high school when Bloodshot #1 came out, and the whole Deathmate series. My interest just didn't stick back then; I was too much into Image Comics and flashy art. In fact, I met one of my best friends through he trying to sell me some Deathmate comics. He used to order multiples of everything through mail order, like Entertainment Monthly (obviously for investment). Another memory I have is asking a comic book store owner which new title he thinks will be worth a lot of money, and he pointed me to Ninjak #1.
Anyway, just sharing some memories....
