That Alf comic would be a good flip if you are so inclined, that issue usually goes for good money. I just wonder who are these people who want that cover so bad they are willing to pay a premium for it... :o

A little backstory....

Mike Wieringo is probably my favorite comics artist. Flash #0 is probably my favorite single issue of all time.

I used to see Mike all the time at Heroescon and we'd chat about the Flash and Spider-man and comics in general. He did a great Batman sketch for me in 1996 that was always the pride of my collection, but unfortunately it was stolen from me about 10 years ago.

When he passed away, I was crushed. Mainly because I'd never get to see any more of his work, but to a small degree because I felt his passing pretty much guaranteed I'd never get to own any more art from him, much less a page of art from the Flash, and very much less a key book.

I just happened to be looking on eBay a few weeks ago and came across this for $75.

Talk about a dream come true.

good deal? I got them cause I originally bought these when I was 8 or 9 starting with issue #1. So It's more of a personal momento than acutal physical value but still, 84 books for 15 bucks cant go wrong right?! It's got all the Weapon X Books in solid NM too.

Nice, did it come with COA with serial number? that's easily a 45 dollar book.

Very cool indeed. Mike was a great guy and I enjoyed meeting him as well at HeroesCon in the 90's. Great score and congrats Tim!

Some of you know about my quest to get the first 20 comic books I ever bought in CGC 9.8 condition. They're a nice contrast to the original beat-to-sh!t books.

The first book I ever bought with my own money was Silver Surfer #56 (I mean...could a 12-year-old kid see that book on the stands and not pick it up?) I was lucky enough to pick up a page of original art from this issue last year (thanks again, chainball) and I finally found a CGC 9.8 copy...

And the best part of all? It's a newsstand just like my original!!

Pretty.

PunX #3 for a dime. (Well, a quarter really, I told the dealer not to bother with the change.)
