Careful playing Demon's Souls TODAY...

WATCH OUT PLAYING DEMON'S SOULS TODAY... THE CREATORS MADE THE GAME MUCH HARDER FOR TODAY, IT BEING 'ALL HALLOWS EVE AND ALL'.

The monsters are much harder but you gain more experience and the loot drops will be even greater due to the increased danger. Here is an article:

October 30, 2009 - Poor Demon's Souls players. You guys sure do have it tough.

Publisher Atlus has decided one of the hardest games this generation isn't hard enough, apparently. Starting on Halloween day, the game's enemies will be stronger, but the rewards will be greater for the players online.

Aram Jabbari, Manager of PR offered up these words of warning.

"Early reports from the Kingdom of Boletaria indicate that the Old One's power grows," said Aram. "We've discovered that the nefarious Demon will seek to descend the land in pure blackness on All Hallow's Eve. His minions will be more powerful, but the rewards for those who seek to challenge them will be greater as well."

"We don't know how long this dark tendency will last, but we do advise those prone to controller-into-LCD syndrome to proceed carefully."

SEE YOU ON THE BATTLEFIELD...

That's actually way cool; I love games that tie into holidays. Reminds me of Christmas NiGHTS back on the day, with all it's Holiday bonuses.

I liked it alright... even though the Demon's would really tough that day, the XP (or Souls) earned were wicked crazy, but alas you play, you earn 12,000 souls and you get ready to go back to the Nexus and you realize... with horror you realize that you do NOT have enough stamina to keep running over this bridge with 'no lie, at an EARLY level' a fire breathing dragon who's flame kills you on the spot and all those nice souls that you have gained disappear, sending you BACK to phantom form, with half the hit points. BUT, if you fight your way BACK to where you were slain you can pick them all up again... unless you die getting there and that is the NEW spot where you died and you only get 'those' souls back. I've never been so frustrated since TMNT the arcade game... grrrrrrrrrrr

I dunno, I am thinking about getting raped on the price by Game Stop and trade it in to get oh I dunno... MAYBE Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Ever since the Call of Duty franchise came out, it always came out on either November 10th or November 11th... and the 11th being my birthday and way back when I was in the Army and then retiring, it became a tradition to get those kind of games on my birthday/Veteran's Day. It seems fitting but the games these days are SO frantic and even though I would say they are the closest thing to 'combat' in the market, it is STILL unrealistic and in that I mean things like 'reload' time. God, how I WISHED I would reload an MP4 or a decked out M14 like they do in the game !!!

But the 'pace' is insane and constant throughout the game (except for the occasional sniper mission and (sorry to complain) those go way to fast as well... that is a job all about patience. But still, I just may pick it up... at least I wont be dying every 8 minutes OR there just has to be a better strategy while playing to ever increasingly difficulty (oh yes, another side bar on Demon's Souls is 'the game INCREASES in difficulty the worse you play... you die a lot, the games flips you the bird, smiles and jacks UP the difficulty level... damn Japs) in Demon's Souls. I think I can trade that game plus some crap game that I have (Saint's Row 2, which I have never really played so it may seem unfair) to only pay $20 BUT, the guys at Game Stop let me use my edge card so I get 10% MORE for my used games, so lets say $14 and change. I even think the guys at Game Stop are chipping in on a gift card for me as some of us play online and they know it's my birthday coming up. The Game Stop (at times) is run SO well (like at a Midnight release) that I will call up their regional boss and let him know how great they did, he even calls me once in a while to ask 'hows the business down there in the dust bowl' (stupid d!ck !!) and we chat for a bit. It pays off once in a while, a while back I was sent a Overloard II minion figure (one of the harder ones to get) and a couple cards for Microsoft game points.

But I digress... Demon's Souls.... wow what a hard and difficult game, and in a time when I just want to sit back and mash buttons and see GORE. Speaking of which... I reserved the re-release of God of War and God of War II with a video makeover and rendered in 720p and got a code to play the God of War III 2009 Convention demo... and all I have to say is, "LADIES ? Stop yer grinnin' and drop yer linen. Cause when God of War III, the face of the planet is going to change and 'we are gonna... GET IT ON !!!"

Yes, it is THAT good and THAT was just a presentation video with bugs in it still. Simply amazing graphic running on the PS3... and GORE ? Oh Geez, NOTHING like seeing a close up of Kratos RIP the head off of someone and then carry the thing around to use it for it's special powers. I am not taking an off screen scene here, I mean, watch the skin stretch, rip and the violence of the head coming off all in 1080p glory and then looking at the bloody strands of flesh and the jugular vein when Kratos pulls the head out to use it. oh, I think I am light headed here. hehehe

I am growing a Kratos beard in honor of the games release (yep, shaved my mustache after more than 20 years... my wife totally digs it, no mustache, only the bottom part of my goatee left which is getting pretty long, but to keep it in length with the 'soul patch' I trimmed it last night. I mean, when you wife gives you a 'wow that looks GREAT', you ARE getting laid either within minutes or later on that night and I mean WITH the lights on...
