...well there were a few prices in the 2-3k which is more reasonable, but the last one at $5500 was bought by a buyer of valiants that has paid top dollar for many other valiants. That's why i said if he isn't around don't expect it to go above 3k and in this economy 2k might be a bit much.nonjon wrote:I know it's a sky-high BIN price, but can anyone tell me what's the market like for a B0plat 9.8? Have any been sold since derbycitycomics' one went for $5500?
Weren't they selling for 2-3 thousand before then and the price just kept climbing?
I'd think when it comes to something as rare as this the only standard to go by is the price the last one sold at.
For what it's worth, I based my dream/BIN price on the assumption that $5500 was what the last 9.8 sold at.
It's been discussed many times before but a lot of us here feel that if it weren't for these boards this thing wouldn't be worth more than $20. Just think, if you wanted to spend 5k on a comic book would you buy this or something else?
If you can get 2k for an error (test comic, whatever the hell it is) for something that almost went into the trash, i say take it!
I could've made a new thread but I figured I'd just bump and resurrect this one.

Yes, it's still a "sky high" Buy It Now! price but I have a better idea of the kind of offers I may be getting. I've also since the last time gotten ID verified and a bit more positive feedback so people may be less hesitant to deal with me and fear scam.
It helps that the Comics Registry CGC Census updated to show a fifth 9.8 (that's this one) and a sixth 9.6 have been graded and are out there.
I honestly don't know what kind of offer I may be accepting but all serious offers will be considered.
Thanks again to everyone on this board for all the help you've given me.

And what Daniel said, now just isn't the time for anything valiant-related, the prices are down substantially across the board. Maybe you'll hit one of those big buyers though, that i mentioned earlier.

Well if there's multiple offers around there, then at least you have outs. If it was only one person that made the offer then you want to act fast, the problem with the BS plat is that there are SO FEW people out there willing to pay that price. The $5500 was truly an anomaly and the guy who sold it (i forget was a member of the boards) should donate 10% of that sale to greg, lol....Elveen wrote:WOW.... really.nonjon wrote:Best offer the first time around was $2100 and a few others were pretty close to that.
It was tempting for sure but it came real early and I wanted to see what other offers might come in.
You gotta take that and be SUPER happy.
$2,100 right now.

Dude, 2k is good money for an error copy, which value is really based on the existance of this board.
I couldnt agree more with you on this.
I dont feel the need to own one outiside of paying say $10 and would sell one in a heartbeat if i found one.
Utter madness.
When i see the words BS plat i think more along the lines of Bulls**t not Bloodshot.
