Who would you like to see as the creative team? Obviously, Shooter is out.
I'd buy a new ongoing Harbinger series from VEI with the right creators...

John Byrne, writing and drawing, would be my first choice.

I'd opt for Byrne if it was 25 years ago and he could still draw. I have the utmost respect for the man but his work from the past 10 or more years has been :!:

I think Geoff Johns handles your typically book very well.

I think Byrne is an interesting choice, but I find his writing to really have faded. I have a hunch if you could add Terry Austin as inker we'd all be happy with the art.

Neil Gaiman on writing duties for the first 6 issues, followed by Brian K. Vaughn for the remainder. Covers by Glen Fabry. Art by Doug Mahnke & Jimmy Palmiotti.

I don't entirely disagree with you, but have you seen his most recent work on IDW's Angel: Blood And Trenches? I'm not saying I'd want a new Harbinger series done without inks or colors but I think it's some of his best work in years.

Todd Nauck would be another possibility.

I would hate to see Byrne get it. He has such mad hate for Shooter he'd do nothing but try to wreck it out of spite, much the same as he did with Starbrand.

All the other choices look good enough to generate my interest.

Better steer clear of him then, we already had enough characters ruined when Valiant brought Giffen aboard.

Wow. Youz guys are throwing some big names out there. My big name guy would be Peter David writing and David Lapham on pencils. In reality, of course, if anyone writes it for VEI, it's going to be a no namer.

Me too.

I would not mind if they found some new young folks to work for VEI. As long as the EiC was strong and the company had a clear vision, I would like to see them give a new (cheaper) dudes a try.

But who would be on the team? I lost interest in the later Harbinger issues originally because of the writing and because Zephyr was the only one left. I suppose a good writer could have kept me interested but...

And what about how Harada and Peter were handled later in the run. Is it possible to make these characters interesting again, if so how?

I may be too much of a purist, but Harbinger will always be Peter, Kris, Zephyr, Flamingo, and Torque. I’m not sure that a different team could be as interesting. Then again Marvel was able to bring back the X-Men by introducing a group of new characters in Giant Sized #1 so anything’s possible.

True, true. If Zephyr is the focal point, it doesn't matter who is writing it. I ain't reading it. In fact, she should get blowed up in the first issue.

Good points. By the time issue #26 came along there just wasn't anything decent left to tell and we got stuck with a lame version of the New Mutants.

For me, the death of Torque took a lot the chemistry the book had going for it away. It would be like killing off Ben Grimm from the Fantastic Four early on. That's the problem with killing off major characters, yeah it makes for some realistic action and a great story, but what do you do afterward?

VEI is going to have a real challenge with this title.
