Actually, the seller DID do some research.whetteon wrote:What do you have to smoke in order to think this will sale at $68.00?

Look for the only Bloodshot 0 Gold in the "completed items" on Ebay.

I'd say they're "striking while the iron is hot".
(It probably won't work (this time)... but you never know.)

This is odd because I just bought one two month ago for $32. Gold foil and everything and I was hesitant at the time because if you were patient then you could possibly get one cheaper. Are you telling me the comic jumped up 100% in 2 months?
Are you sure that the auction in question wasn't being pushed higher by fake bids?

Comic Link has some pretty funny asking prices. Apparently comic link users feel that if they are going to post their comic on the website, they should recieve a 300% increase in price just because...well, because they asked for it. Comic Link prices are more out of touch with reality then recent wizard postingsckb wrote:The seller is dino - why don't you ask him!
The CGC 9.8 on comiclink is $150.

I wouldn't say that. Only the single, most recent sale was for $68.Are you telling me the comic jumped up 100% in 2 months?
That one sale is currently a "blip" on the scope of sales for Bloodshot 0 Gold.
The market average, including the $68 auction, is still $24.77.
While more recent sales have been above $24.77...
There's no reason to think that the book won't sell below $25 again.
In fact, it could sell for less than $15 before it sells again for $50+.
On Ebay, you never know about condition, and you never know about price...
(Though, we are finding ways to know more about condition.

I think the $68 auction was a fake. In fact, it appears one of the bidders (the one who bid the most on the book) even bid against himself a couple of times although I may be mistaken because I hate the way eBay show you the time after the bid closes. I'm not even sure if it should be included. In hindsight, maybe it's a good thing that dino is currently asking $68 so we can see if this is truely a new high water point or just wishful thinking.greg wrote:

While it's always interesting to look at "how" an auction reaches the final bid, whetteon wrote:I think the $68 auction was a fake.
in this case, the winning bidder is "doc0004"... who has a perfect feedback record,
and has purchased Valiant items before.
Even if the auction "shouldn't" have reached $68 under other circumstances,
it did... and the buyer appears to be legit.
So, I'm confident that we have "one sale" at that price.
Whether there's anyone ELSE willing to pay $68... I guess we'll see.
...and again, the average price has been $24.77 (including shipping),
which tells me it will probably sell again near $24.77 in the future.

On Comiclink, the asking price is just that - an asking price. A buyer can bid whatever they want (and a seller can set an auotmatic rejection based on a percentage of the asking price). And remember the house takes 10% off the top, and the seller pays for shipping to Comiclink.
You can see the Unity 0 Red CGC9.8 and Harb 0 Pink CGC9.8 both have bids at about half the asking price.
On the multiple bids for the $68 gold auction: Some buyers take the tactic to bid multiple times when they are the high bidder to discourage the exposure of their bid. It gets complicated as to exactly why, but it can help if you are not sniping.

Yup that is my auction....its a little embarresing now. What happened was I had a buyer for $68 for that and for Armorines Cardstock and he wanted to be safe by having the sale be an ebay one so I created these two auctions and then he backed out. I figure what the hell I'll just leave them up, you never know:)

Whoops!!! My bad man, the seller insisted on a picture for the auction which he was supposed to bin straight away. I grabbed the first one I could find on ebay because I dont have a scanner and wanted to get the auctions up as quickly as possible. I tried to revise the auction and remove the picture but it wont let me this close to the end so I added an apology to the description.
btw what did you mean by we'd been through this before?
