Finally picked a nice little deal myself this afternoon. After Shooters Dark Horse announcement I have been interested in getting a bit more familiar with the original GK characters so I have been searching for some affordable copies of the DH hard covers.

I managed to grab these used books today ......

Doctor Solar Volume 1 - GBP 2.42
Doctor Solar Volume 2 - GBP 1.77
Magnus Robot Fighter Volume 2 - GBP 2.90
Magnus Robot Fighter Volume 3 - GBP 2.46

For a grand total of GBP 9.55. These were UK only auctions on EbayUK.

I haven't been interested in the Dark Horse GK books because of the high prices they put on them, but I definitely would have picked them up for those prices. Nice going.

Thanks , I was feeling the same way too about the high prices of the books. I wouldn't have bought them otherwise.

That sounds genius dude.
There are so many tpb deals on ebay UK.
Just really curious how they are sending them for £9.55 postage?
I know for a fact that one would cost close to that through Royal Mail.

If you can ask after you get them ( as to not bring any attention to the crazy low cost) how they sent them.
I think those four would cost close to £30 to post to US.

Hehe ... the GBP 9.55 is the total for just the 4 HCs. The seller figured shipping would be £20 - £30. So I figure its kinda like buying one brand new and getting almost 3 for free. Normally I would not have gone for them because of the overseas shipping costs but a chance to get 4 at that price, I couldn't pass , my max bids were £3.75.

I will post back when I get the shipping cost.

  .. its all good !! Most of us Canadians and Americans are just a bunch of Scottish , Irish or English immigrants anyways.
I think we are all a little closer then we choose to admit sometimes ....

In the meantime i'm still waiting for my final invoice for a shipping total. Hopefully the seller can find a nice reasonable price.

 wasn't expecting that.

We should do another board poll sometime to see where we're all from. I know there was one a long time ago (or maybe not, memory isn't my best attribute). But I'm sure theres alot of different people around now, we could track the evolution of the 'Valiant Fan'.

 Yep, living in Michigan and going back and forth to Ontario all the time, I can definitely say that Canada is a nice place and there are, for the differences that exist, far more similarities than some would like to admit. And hey, you guys gave us hockey. I can't be too hard on you.

Here's a semi-almost sorta Valiant-related book...
(see Harbinger #13 for the semi-sorta reference)

Image

This book (same serial number) sold in April for $280.
I just picked it up at Ebay... $168. :thumb:
