New Universe News
It's been a long, long time since I discovered anything new (to me, anyway) about Marvel's New Universe. Apparently not only did Marvel have real plans for a 13th issue of Nightmask, a cover for the unpublished issue drawn by John Romita Jr was finished. For more info and an image check out the link to my New U News page below.

If you guys liked those then you should build a Marvel run of Quasar. There were several issues where a Watcher puts him through several What If? scenerios, ultimately landing him in the New Universe where he interacts with all of those characters, including the DP7 group.StarBrand wrote:I really enjoyed that universe, and still do.Phoenix8008 wrote:Very cool, Starbrand! Someday I'll get all of issues for the New Universe titles again. They were great.
Then, for much of the remaining series the Starbrand returns to the Marvel U with him (hidden under the Quantum Bands) and causes all sorts of plot twists up to the Starblast mini-series all about the Brand. Unfortunately, Starblast suffered from really awful art and no support, but the New Universe is an underlying theme throughout much of the Quasar book until it's cancellation around issue 60 or so.
Thanks for that post. Mark Gruenwald, the most prolific New Universe writer, very much missed the New Universe and was the writer on those Quasars.IMJ wrote:If you guys liked those then you should build a Marvel run of Quasar. Issue 34 of Back Issue! has a Jim Shooter interview and a look back at The New Universe. This was pointed out to me on my New Universe message board and then posted immediately to my New Universe site yesterday.

Always nice to uncover new info dude.
Good job.

Good job.

I trade as Dead Universe Comics in the UK, which is no surprise to those who know of my legendary Dead Universe habit.

I came across the Jewelers variant at Mile High. I think the picture they have is the same as the regular cover. :tictuck wrote:Pictures pleaseStarBrand wrote:I also discoved a Jewelers variant exists for Justice #8, making this the most valuable New Universe comic I'm aware of.If you have any
I actually discovered the Spanish varaints at Mile High as well. Some are in stock at the moment. They have pics of all those.
Over the years the only Spanish New U variants I've ever seen for sale were at Mile High, and none were in high grade.
