Hey Draco... (ashcans)

Comic universes no longer active, Bravura, Continuity, CrossGen, Future, Malibu, Ultraverse... and others that are 'no longer with us' today (or only recently brought back).

Hey Draco... (ashcans)

Post by Knightt »

Hey man, how many ashcans would you say that you have ? Do you have any special ones or rare ashcans you'd like to share a pic of ? I am thinking about making an ashcan and non-sports cards section here in the DU... any of you guys up for something like that ?

I figure that the ashcan section can be VERY informative (even a trade/sell/give kind of place) and the non-sports card section can be informative but I would really like to get it where we are doing what the cards were intended for... trading. I have over 15,000 various common cards and two long boxes of chase cards that I would love to do some trading for... anybody up for those ?

Me ? I think this might be a hard ashcan to find... maybe. :hm:

I'd give my right nut for this one:

I think i only have about 100 at the moment, but the ashcans are one of the few parts not sorted.

I dont really have any great ones, but must have some obscure bits.
I will have a look and see if i can put up some pics.

I do have one in particular that you will love, so its in your pile.

you know this is a good idea. Would it be just for DU stuff??

Coincidently, I picked up two over the weekend (no charge) from my LCS - War Machine and Batman/Grendel.

I have one copy.
Some dude sold me 20 long boxes a few years back and there was an entire long of HEro mag, plus three long boxes of deathmate.
I left two boxes of deathmate at the show as they wouldnt fit in the van.
Such a shame.

I think the 'emphasis' should be DUs but personally I would also like to see a list of all that is out there. I know that this is a tall order, but I think it would be fun.

Oh yeah that Batman/Grendel gold ashcan is pretty elusive. I know that I USED to own one but it is MIA.

I think a combined section - 'Non-Sports Cards & Ashcans'

According to an article I saw in an old... Hero(?) magazine, there's an ultra-limited Platinum variant.

Flipping through my copy of Hero Illustrated #1, on page 152 they mention that the Batman/Grendel Platinum ashcan is available as a prize in one of their contests. It says that there will be 25 winners. If that's the print run, then DAMN.

In another article, it mentions that there's an original, stand alone Hardcase story in Hero Illustrated #0. :hm: Worth some investigation.

False alarm, it's talking about the Hardcase Hero Magazine ashcan.

I really need to read things more closely before I get Knightt's blood pressure up.

Only way Chiclo could even come close to raising my blood pressure is to shove Jessica Alba's t!ts or *SQUEE* in my face. :thumb:

I just got this ashcan. I just got it because it looked cool. Atari was such a big part of my childhood.

I'm actually going to put it on ebay...... but it looked so cool.

I think this will look good in Knightts box and if not, mine is happy to accomodate too.

Gotta love this stuff.
I disucssed with Drift the sorting of mine only a day or so ago.
My Ashcans previews and such are a thing of beauty.

I do not have one of these but I 'think' that the 3 for a $1 bins at my LCS (no more 50 for $5 deals  ) might have one. But it does wet my appetite.

BTW Draco, I believe I may have found a rather unusual Vampirella/Shi ashcan. It's perrrrty... AND some fantastic art inside.

I'll try and post a scan asap. If yer interested.
